Even if the police of Montreal (SPVM) tolerates the past few years, escort agencies are visibly away from the police strikes. The morality squad dismantled last week the agency MTLC, one of the largest in Montreal.

The two alleged the agency directors, Benoit Trempe, aged 39, and Patrick Beaupre, 35, administers a highly sophisticated website that prostitutes seven independent agencies showed their availability in real time. They have been accused of pandering to the courthouse in Montreal last week.

"It was a lucrative prostitution network that was linked to the Hells Angels," said Elodie Pestel, spokesman SPVM. "The investigation started after several complaints from residents," she added. The network employed fifty prostitutes, according to police.

Benoit Trempe, La Presse that met Thursday in a park in Montreal, admitted to have played a major role in the agency and recognized as a supporter of the Hells Angels. "That I was wearing a jacket Chapter South on occasion, but I was not wearing a jacket full of patches," he explained. He also admitted to being close to a member in good standing of the Hells Angels who were arrested in connection with the operation SharQc last month, but he swears he has never paid a penny to the organization criminal. "The Hells, it's a brotherhood, that's all. Police are currently making a case for no reason, "he said. However, he acknowledged that his ties with the Hells "simplify" his life. "It gives me some respect in the community," he said.

During the descent, which has mobilized hundreds of officers in five different places, the police have their hands on the equipment estimated at $ 200 000, several cell phones, cameras were used to take pictures of prostitutes and than $ 6,000 in cash.

Surprisingly, the agency MM. Hardening and Beaupré was duly recorded in the provincial register of companies under the name MSTRIP Promotions, a company of "escorting of dignitaries, entertainment and care." The names of MM. Hardening and Beaupré, along with their addresses, are enrolled. The company also accepted credit cards through a terminal on behalf of MSTRIP discounts, "says Trempe.

Strike, dozens of agencies spared

At present, an estimated 200 the number of escort agencies in the Greater Montreal. Most of them act with impunity and even publishing explicit adverts in newspapers. The police prefer to focus on street prostitution and addressing them as if complaint.

According to what learned La Presse, no prostitute has been arrested during the operation, although officials have interviewed five of them. "They were all released after being ask questions," said the telephone receptionist MTLC, who requested anonymity.

According to various sources, many of them have already found employment in other agencies, most important, Devilish Escorts. The receptionist MTLC has itself created a new agency this week. "I'm very scared that the police strike again, but the girls asked me to organize them something. They want to work, she said. Customers also have very afraid. It is not clear why they have referred our agency. "

In the world of prostitution, the news of the dismantling of MTLC made much noise. Under the umbrella of the Union of TDS (sex workers), a number of prostitutes strongly denounced the operation. "It's all very well to accuse organized crime of being behind some agencies, but it's pure hypocrisy. These agencies, this is our livelihood. I was treated better by working in these places there as a graphic designer in the private sector, "said an escort who works under the name of Amélie Jolie.

Mtl cops raid Mtl Station C

The Montreal cops puts down at least one online agency, Mtl Station C, and wants to do the same thing with the others guys. Also, if they start to bother the Montreal websites, they might also team up with Laval, Longueuil, Quebec City or SQ cops to arrest out of the island too in the future.

I don't want to affraid anyone, just let you know to take extra caution to stay safe. Search her name in the paper classifieds, not yours in the first pages! :)

I think it's about time that this whole activity became OFFICIALLY legalized at least in Quebec, forget what F1 ever did, that would increase tourism revenue by 1000%

If that were to happen, of course the activity as a whole would fall under the umbrella of (probably) La regie des loteries et courses, so it would all become super-antiseptic and naturally...

taxable.

Prices would increase, service would decrease, unions would be created...

You know what? On second thought maybe it's better if it doesn't get legalized.

La Presse
May 25, 2009

Even if the Montreal police (SPVM) have been tolerating them for a long time, escort agencies are evidently no longer immune from police raids. Last week the vice squad dismantled the MTLC agency, one of Montreal's leading agencies.

The two accused heads of the agency, Benoît Trempe, age 39, and Patrick Beaupré, 35, managed a very sophisticated Web site where prostitutes from seven independent agencies advertised their availability in real time. They were accused of pimping at the Montreal Hall of Justice last week.

"It was a lucrative prostitution network that was linked to the Hells Angels," declared Élodie Pestel, spokesperson of the SPVM. "The investigation began with several complaints from residents," she added. The network employed about fifty prostitutes, according to the police.

Benoît Trempe, whom La Presse met last Thursday in a Montreal park, admitted playing a major roll in the agency and acknowledged being a Hells Angels sympathizer. "Sometimes I would wear South chapter colors, but I didn't wear full patch colors," he explained. He also admitted being close to a regular member of the Hells Angels who was arrested during Operation SharQc last month, but he swears that he never handed over a cent to the organization. "The Hells, it's just a fraternity, that's all. The police are making a big deal out of this for no reason," he maintained. At the same time, he acknowledged that his ties with the Hells "simplified" his life. "That brought me a certain respect in the business," he affirmed.

During the operation, which mobilized about 100 officers in five different places, the police seized computer technology whose worth is estimated at $200K, several cellphones, cameras which were used to take photos of the prostitutes as well as $6000 in cash.

Surprisingly, the agency of Mr. Trempe and Mr. Beaupré was legally registered with the Provincial Business Bureau under the name of MSTRIP Promotions, a business for "personal accompaniment services, management and promotion." The names of Mr. Trempe and Mr. Beaupré, as well as their addresses were listed on the business record. The business even accepted credit cards thanks to a terminal in the name of MSTRIP Promotions, affirmed Mr. Trempe.

One taken out, but dozens spared

At this moment, it is estimated that there are about 200 escort agencies in the area of Greater Montreal. Most of them operate with complete impunity to the point of being able to publish explicit classified ads in newspapers. The police prefer to concentrate on street prostitution and don't both the agencies unless there are complaints.

According to what La Presse has learned, no prostitute was arrested during the operation, although officers questioned five of them. "They were all released after being questioned," said the telephone receptionist at MTLC, who requested that her name not be revealed.

According to different sources, quite a few escorts have already found employment in other agencies of which the most important is Devilish Escorts. The receptionist at MTLC herself created a new agency this week. "I'm afraid that the police might strike again, but the girls asked me to put together something. They want to work," she said. "Clients are also afraid. We can't understand why they closed our agency."

In the mileu of prostitution, the news of the dismantling of MTLC has caused quite a stir. United under the aegis of the Union of Sex Workers, some prostitutes strenuously condemned the operation. "It's all well and good to accuse organized crime of being behind certain agencies, but it's pure hypocricy. These agencies are our means of earning a living. I've been treated better working there than when I worked as a graphic artist in the private sector," declared an escort who works under the name Amélie Jolie.

This is the key sentence in the article, which also states that outcall agencies in Montreal are traditionally not bothered by LE unless there are complaints from residents.

I doubt the complaint came from someone staying at a hotel - likely a resident staying at a hotel would not complain to police but rather to hotel security. If the complaint came from someone at a private residence, this was likely due to indiscreet behavior by the MTLC staff and/or their clients at the said residence.

EB, I agree that complaints from citizens would be a big reason that the police would target a certain agency. In this case, I think the obvious ties to the Hells Angels also made them a target:

Benoît Trempe, whom La Presse met last Thursday in a Montreal park, admitted playing a major roll in the agency and acknowledged being a Hells Angels sympathizer. "Sometimes I would wear South chapter colors, but I didn't wear full patch colors," he explained. He also admitted being close to a regular member of the Hells Angels who was arrested during Operation SharQc last month, but he swears that he never handed over a cent to the organization. Sorry fella, but walking around wearing a HA vest and taking pride in your relationship with the Hells is going to get you in trouble if you're an agency owner. There seems to be zero tolerance for the Hells in Montreal these days. This guy was asking for trouble...and he found it.

Maybe other agencies have ties to the Hells. I have no idea whether all of them or none of them do. But if they do, they are much more discreet about it.

Hello everyone,

Let's keep the topic of minors out this discussion please. The reports have stated that there was no involvement or suspicion of minor involvement in this case. There is no reason to go in this direction. The reason for the bust seems to be well explained in the articles posted in the thread. If I find this thread straying too far off the main discussion, it will be closed.

I recently had few feedbacks from LE operation against Montreal Escorts Agencies. The operation was planned long time ago.

Based on what I've heard I would recommand to people (clients) to be carefull. LE operation is not yet finished. My recommandations are:

- stay away from agencies that have been caught...it's pure suicide.
- don't deal with agencies having connexions with HA & street gangs

LE operations against organized crime are really targeted. For once I've to admit they're doing a great job since now few months (Rizutto family is down, HA are out of the game, FTQ bad boys relations are now public, construction is under severe investigations, etc.)

Good advice...so when I call an agency, I just say:

"By the way, you're not affiliated in any way with the Hells Angels, street gangs, the mafia, Al-Qaeda, Hizzbollah, Hamas, the Triads, or the Yakuza, are you?"

And if they say no, then I'm OK, right?

Honestly, I don't think clients need to worry about doing business with any well-established Montreal agency that has a good reputation on MERB. If something else is to happen, then I think it's the agency owners who need to worry, not the clients or the escorts. Apart from cases that involve drugs, streetwalkers and underage prostitution, clients and escorts are 99.9% immune from arrest for the simple act of paid sex.

We can only judge an agency by its reputation and there is ample information here and elsewhere to make such judgments. If you want to be absolutely sure that you are not dealing with one of the organized crime groups that I mentioned above, then don't use escorts, and don't go to any massage parlors or strip clubs either.

If only I knew...
You're right Capt. Nothing to worry for customers as there's nothing illegal in calling an agency, even if it's a known fact it's for paid sex. As long as the girls are of legal age and doing it freely, there's no point in going after customers. Girls might be bothered but likely, no legal action will be taken against them either, unless they have a stake in the agency's profits from other girls. A customer could get in trouble if the girl is also delivering him some dope at the same time...

The only legal risk the girls might face if they are just "working" would likely be welfare wanting to be reimbursed (some claim having no job and claim welfare, didn't you know?) and Revenue Canada/Revenue Québec wanting part of the pie from some others.

I think HA have got a false reputation over time. Sure there was some incident back in the time, but overall they are just interested in money from illegal activites such as drug selling.

Im afraid the time there gone(cause they will be back) something worse could take the place. Like they say its better to deal with the devil you know than the devil you don't know. As long as you stay out of there territory and don't bother them, the Hells will not care about you.

But when it comes to montreal street gang and the shit like that, wearing the wrong color in the wrong place can get you kill, even if you didn't knew about them... Thats more of a probleme. If these gang get too strong, it may be one big probleme, so personally i rather have the hells around then theses...

As for agencies, its legal to call one and get an SP right? I mean if it would be illegal, you wouldn't see advertisement in the papers, or website on the internet so open...
