I usually put some music on & the style depends on whom i'm seeing. Not to loud to kill my focus. However, i noticed a year ago or so that i perform better without music.
I now mostly put on music by putting my wireless speaker close to door if i have neighbours in the next rooms, or if i know in advance my 'guest' may be somewhat loud. One of my lady friends chuckled at this recently & joked that people do know what's going on. I told her i prefer being discrete, especially in case they might have children.
I now do this because one time a year ago, i hooked up with one of my regulars. We started off on the sofa, then moved onto the bed. We later took a break & when we resumed our activities, we decided to continue doing our 'exercises' on the floor, a few feet from the door. She never seemed to realize it, but my guest could be quite vocal when she'd be into it.
About 15 minutes after she left, a buddy of mine stopped by to ask me if i felt like going out for dinner later. I was standing by my door talking to him while in my robe when a teenage guy & girl walked past my room & both had a nervous look. I thought about this later that they had likely overheard what was going on behind closed doors earlier. So that's why i now often put a small wireless speaker close to the door.....in order to block off the noise a bit.
