Need some help and would love to hear your inputs!!!

Guess who's back to play!
I know, I know!! Montreal has a million agencies, why would I want to
be one million and one?

Here's why, Very few agencies are owned and operated solely by a
former sp. Most of them have a man behind the scene that is
responsible for the major choices and decisions made. I started in
this industry a very short time ago but am learning very fast! I want
to work Indy and at the same time start up an agency to surround
myself with a bunch of team players. Ladies that want to work together
and have the support we all need. A support system that only we can
understand.

So I would like to ask a question that I am sure many have before. I
would like to have Sp's as well as clients chime in.

What makes a great agency in the eyes of the clients.

What in your eyes is an acceptable rate for a GFE service with no Extras?

How much should go to the lady vrs the agency?

Is the agency name all that important? Suggestions?

Do the point systems that some agencies have/ had ( I noticed talk
about some but can't seem to find any)work?

Pictures... What type of pictures work best? Is FKS better then
Eleganza and if yes why?

I need to find a photographer as well as a website designer I would
prefer to find someone that would be willing to offer these services
in exchange for mine ;) but it is not an absolute must.

Where are the best places to advertise? Can someone from here tell me
what the rate would be to just be allowed to post? I don't have any
site or banner yet

I have a lot of ideas and want to do a bit more research prior to
opening up. But I would love to hear from you and what you would like
vrs what you dislike.

I am sorry for all the questions but I am a very thorough person and
want to do this right.

Thank you for taking the time to read ;)

There are too many questions here to cover in one shot, but let me try:

What makes a great agency in the eyes of the clients?

The secret formula is the three "S" approach: service, scarcity and sensuality. You need to service clients with scarce ladies (ie. beautiful, intelligent, etc.) that exude sensuality.:p

What in your eyes is an acceptable rate for a GFE service with no Extras?

Loaded question but if you take the minimum hourly wage in Quebec, which is $8.50, and multiply it by 20, you get $170. Sounds good to me.

How much should go to the lady vs the agency?

75% to the SP, 15% to the agency and 10% to the driver.

Is the agency name all that important? Suggestions?

Hell yes, I suggest "Sultry Sins".

Do the point systems that some agencies have/ had ( I noticed talk
about some but can't seem to find any) work?

I doubt it...who even tracks them? The best thing is to rotate and offer specials on different ladies every week. I mean real specials, not cosmetic ones.

Pictures... What type of pictures work best? Is FKS better then
Eleganza and if yes why?

Keep them simple but add a little spice (sexy stockings, provocative poses, etc.). We are pigs and like to be visually stimulated.:p Eleganza, Satin Dreamz and Asservissante are the models.

Where are the best places to advertise? Can someone from here tell me
what the rate would be to just be allowed to post? I don't have any
site or banner yet.

Advertise on Merb, Terb, and Perb. Send a PM to Fred Zed, the owner of this board, with $$$$ in the title.:D

Hello,

I am surprise you didn't ask where to find the girls :D

Ok, on a serious note, it may be also important that you let the public
know who you are, well or maybe not, that depends too ... Just to say
since you pointed out that many men are behind, it might help.

Good luck ;)

Please don't take the above this the wrong way, but you would be better off to start working as an indy first, build your own business, and getting some REAL experience, then move on to agency running.

Go ahead and get a paid membership here, build yourself a decent website, get some awesome reviews, and keep them positive. Build a relationship with board members, your potential clients, and a reputation for going above and beyond.

Until then, yea, you will be a million and one. Personally, do not do it unless you are THE ONE!

If this can be a word of wisdom...

Somehow, I don't know if with

- All the competition in this business
- The biased opinions of some clients (oh my dear it happens)

I would actually ask for advices on how to start my escort agency on this board. I don't know if I would ask advices on how to start my escort related business to anyone that is involved in this business period.

People who are graviting around this are often too eager to point you in the wrong direction, watch you fall and point fingers at you when your down. Even your best friends and associates are not to be trusted. And the ones who know you best and pretend they want to help you are the ones who will be the cruelest to you in the end.

I wouldn't take any advices from here besides this one. ;)

Good Luck!

P.-S. Instead of asking how, do many searches on the board, on the internet and take the good you read, leave the bad, check what mistakes have been made etc. The tools are all out there. :)

I have to disagree with you here Lilly. As with any business proposition talking to customers is exactly the right approach. In this instance it's a substitute for a market survey. Where you have a valid point is that you need many opinions so that those that may have a biased agenda are not overly represented in the results.

sexxxymtl :

My advice is you have to decide what market you wish to target, the LDL or HDL. There are significant differences in a lot of areas including the clients they target.

Eleganza and FKS have both been successful for a long period of time ( for this business anyway) and I'm sure they overlap some clients but not a huge percentage.

Eleganza provides the young, 18 to 24 year old "spinner" type escorts providing a liberal level of service for short appointments while FKS provides 25 to 35 year old , more refined escort for longer appointments.
There are lot's of other differences but the point is your first decision is to understand the differences, decide which market you want to address and then ask your questions.

Hello

Before I start I would like to first thank everyone who so far has given me there advice.

"Sultry Sins", it sound intriguing, thanks General ;) What do you mean not cosmetic specials??? Do agencies all share the same photographer?
Jessy, I hope you understand but for now I would like to remain anonymous until I decide what I'm going to do.
I don't believe that it would not be fair to the agency I am working for now. And not to worry I will find the girls ;) What I meant by most agencies are owned by men, was based on when I was looking around for an agency to work with I noticed that I was having my interviews with mostly men. As I stated before I'm still new to this industry, but so far I have received a few extremely positive reviews, and I'm positive that they will remain that way.
I like challenges and believe that I can put together a great team.

Would I have to choose between LDL and HDH? Wouldn't I be able to do both?

I agree Possum, clients point of view is extremely important so that we are able to building a great agency or any other type of
business for that matter. 1st time clients go by word of others and continued business is formed by listening and fulfilling the clients needs. And repeat clients are how any company keep there doors open.

I really appreciate the fact that I'm receiving quite a bit of advice, both positive and negative, because this way I feel that I'm getting peoples true reactions and there for am able to grow even more within the industry.

sexxxymtl,

You are a smart girl. You know what you want and it seems that you are well on your way to getting it.

I don't really think that any advice you would receive here should be followed. Let me explain: Existing agency owners would not want to help you, why help the competition?

Most of the posters on here are men, and we all know about how men are in the locker room. This IS a locker room, a mens' forum, for men to speak their minds.

I cannot speak for SP's as I don't really know enough about them to contribute anything useful.

I know you are a smart girl, with her own ideas and opinions. Do your research, take what people say with a grain of salt, but mostly, go with your own gut feeling. I know that you will succeed if you listen to yourself, and yourself only.

I wish you the best.

Hi Tangoman000, thank you very much for your post.... I admit that I still have things to learn, but I'm a very fast learner and far cry from being a quiter..... Even negative comments I take it as something to learn.... Except for this Tony guy.... Who is he... Don't know what to do about that situation but I'm sure I'll find a way to prove to Maxima that I'm not this person or any other ill intention person that people have encountered in the past... Since I only have 2 posts and still new to the industry I can understand how people might not take this as serious as I am taking it but I will be able to prove my credibility in time.... I found out about these boards from clients that I have seen and after reading them for the past month I decided to to ask the community so that I can see and experience first hand at what clients want and expect and how to rest fears that people might have.... It means a lot to me Tangoman000 to have support and I value the words that you have sent me.... Thanks again

If you start an agency from scratch, expect to be, as DM stated, a million and one.

A few years ago, Martin of XXXtase started with one lady, one cell phone, incall and Journal de Montreal ads. If you hustle, you can make it, but I wouldn't recommend running an escort agency to my worst enemy.

Also, there are plenty of morons running escort agencies these days. Very few agency owners are business savvy or hard workers.

Indy is easy?

You seem to assume that being a successful independent lady is a simple thing? Maintaining a great reputation as well as assuring your own security while making generous profits, because let’s face it, nobody wants to be a broke independent SP and maybe high end at that!

When I first started as an independent escort I had very little knowledge in how to operate a business based on the web. How does one take care of advertisement provincially nationally and internationally? How many new visits per day on your web site should you have? Besides giving a good service and that’s an art of it’s own, your success is based on your abilities to promote your image on the net. Lilly is right, be careful nobody will hand you the recipe to success; it’d be too easy. I’ve spent many nights and days surfing the net to index my site and place it in as many web directories as possible.

Trading in your services for a web master’s or a photographer’s or anything related to your business is always problematic. You know the saying don’t s… where you eat. I’m sorry, it’s vulgar but I couldn’t help because it’s so true. Paying for services always gets you further in the end. Own your own domain name; don’t let anyone control any parts of your business.

Stay safe and good luck,

Very very wise woman indeed! You say it all so well...

Well, if being an independent escort is so easy, I wonder why there are not more of us out there and still a majority working in agencies.;)

Maintaining a reputation : if you are too successful, there will always be someone trying to hurt your rep! I know it soooo well.

How to stay safe when you work on your own? I get this question asked many times. Filtering all the emails, doing the verification of the names, hotels or references etc. Yeah, it's all very easy indeed.

To save costs (not to trade my services) and to avoid having anyone have parts in my business, I made my own website, I made my own pictures, I do my own Search Engine Optimization until 5am and link to all the directories I can find. I pay for some advertising, than analyze my traffic to see where it is worth to link to. My web business is a 24/7 one. Constantly, I am thinking of ways to improve, make it better.

I tought I was the only one who thought that.

In the end tough, I am better as an indy than I would ever be as an agency owner. My standards would be too high and I couldn't deal with unreliability and all the other problems related to it.

Hi everyone again,
Sensual Cleo : Hi, I never said that doing this is easy.... Like any other business it's hard work... If you put your sweat and tears into it, then you have a better chance at it paying off.... I don't know much about the business as I'm still learning, but I know who I am, and how I am when it comes to business matters.... Plus for the fact that I'm not a quitter, and I'll keep striving for the best that I personally can do...... Your right though about providing my services for help in geting things done.. Thank you for pointing that part out....
Lilly: I think the reason why people don't want to go independant is due to the fact that it would have to be themselves who work their ass off for profit... When you work with the agency, all you really end up doing is just entertaining the clients, but when you are independant, the hours or work and the amount of work can be overwhelming which I have already seen.... I also agree that if a reputation is good that people will try to hurt but again that can be said in any business.

Jessy: The insinuation of me being Tony is what I was referring to. This might help you understand what I meant when I used the word "ill" Hope it helps improve your English ;)

ill
* indicating hostility or enmity; "you certainly did me an ill turn"; "ill feelings"; "ill will"
* unfavorably or with disapproval; "tried not to speak ill of the dead"; "thought badly of him for his lack of concern"

I think Jessy was asking how you would know that Tony is an "ill" person if you are new to the board?

After reading Maxima's post I assumed that ''Tony'' was not a favored poster. I inquired to one of the mods and was given info via private messages as to who he is. I also used the search key here and on merc. I am aware that people are doubting who I am but I have spoke with a mod here to try and help my credibility. I do understand that I will need to prove myself but I still believe that posting here was the best place to get the answers I need. I appreciate the help I have gotten so far.

Passage in bold x 10 for running an agency.

If you're really serious about opening an agency it would really, really help if you started by going indy first to see if you can handle the heat.

JAG

I gave you tips on the other board, but I second JAG. It is hard work and some people (most) can't handle it.

I wish you the best of luck and I do hope that people can put their "competitiveness" aside once in a while to give face value info to help others out.

Call me naive (I am) but when I started I was really pissed that the other people I met were so stuck up in their own affairs. I like to think that there are people out there willing to help others for the sake of it.
