A buddy of mine sent me a text and asked me if i noticed that, i said i didn't but clicked on the latest new member and he has been banned before he posted. That's the toughest moderation i have ever witnessed.

Although my handle is now unbanned, my IP address is banned. This means I can post only when not on my home computer, even though I have not posted under any duplicate handles, nor am I a chronic troublemaker (despite a few minor suspensions here and there in the past which are basically "shit happens" kinds of infractions). I didn't even dispute my most recent suspension and don't know how or why my handle was unbanned and why my IP address remains banned. I wrote to Fred Zed about this and no reply so far.
I would be curious as to why your home ip address is banned, did they ban a bunch of ip addresses with similar numbers and by accident yours was close enough to be banned.

We seem to be invaded by spammers lately, when I google ip addresses and they come back as a spammer, they are banned before they can post. As for EB I cannot explain why his ip would be blocked as only Fred can do that (or undo it).

Eager, you use a static IP ? Normally with today's thecnology are not the IP adresse changing on every modem resets?
I sent an email to Fred on this about 3 days ago and I have no response. The "your IP address is banned" message actually contains a link in it that sends the viewer right to FZ's email addy.
This post is being made from a different IP address than my home base. It's only at my home IP base where I can't post, and that is usually the only place from which I would post.
As far as I know. I will try to reset the modem and see what happens. I have not reset the modem since the ban was instituted.
Some still use static IP (as the ISP only has so many IP addresses to deliver), but most home users and ISP's use dynamic IP. Also depends if your part of a more complex network... i.e. surfing merb at work. Chances are your work network has static IP's on workstations.
Acting on HM's suggestion, I tried to reboot my modem when I went home for lunch, but it did not fix the problem. My IP address remains banned, and I am unable to post from my home PC. It seems that only Fred can fix the problem and he has apparently not been able to do so.
Have you tried posting with a VPN? There are blocks of IP's that are banned from accessing the boards if prolific spammers have used those IP's. When I was using a VPN the other day, I tried to log on to terb and it said the IP was blocked - and it was from somewhere in the UK that I'd never posted from before, so I switched to a different IP and logged on just fine.
Just an idea, did you unplug the router or modem for at least 3 minutes? Whenever I have issues with routers cable etc that is what I am told to try.
