Regarding Ristorante Bis, I ate there about 5 years ago one night when I was in the mood for pasta. As I recall they specialize in pasta dishes. Their food is pretty reasonably priced for what they are serving. I have not been back because I am not a huge pasta eater.

Hello EB,

I was at Bis about 4 times in the last 2 years and yes the pasta is amazing, but they have great meat dishes too and a great selection of wine. I cannot remember what the name of the one we had last time but the owner said it was imported from a little vignard in Italy (Was he making it up, I don't know) but it was really delicious. I have had the Osso bucco there and it just melted in your mouth! What I love about this place is that the menu is a guide. They will make you anything you want, just ask them and if they have it, they will make it. I asked them if they could make some Bracioles (which is a typical Italian dish that I have never seen on any menu) and they said they'de make it anytime for a beautiful girl like me.

Plus, they have a picture of Georges Clooney with the owners on the entrance wall, how can a girl resist???

it may have been mentioned somewhere in this thread, but for those who enjoy our national fatty treat...i would say "La Banquise" on rachel is a safe bet...

Jun-I on Laurier in Mile End would be a good candidate. Kaizen on St. Catherine one block west of Atwater is probably more expensive, not necessarily better.

3. Any new Tapas restaurants?

When it comes to Tapas my favorite Tapas restaurant, in Montreal, is Tapeo. This restaurant is located at the corner of Saint-Hubert and Villeray. The exact address is 511 Villeray. It's funny because twenty years ago this local used to be a women clothing store owned by one of my Haitian friends. As the restaurant is pretty small and cozy, it's the best place for a tête-à-tête with your lover.

TAPEO'S Site: http://www.restotapeo.com/

Being myself pugnacious, unfortunately something essential is missing in this restaurant. Like other Tapas restaurants in Montreal, what I miss the most is a fiery tertulia (an intellectual debate between intellectuals on artistic, philosophical, cultural or social matters).

TERTULIA: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tertulia

In the same district (Villeray), is also located on of my favorites South American restaurant : Solymar

Solymar is a Peruvian restaurant serving excellent ceviche, fish, charcoal grill (parilladas) and even blood sausages (marcillas). My favorite dish there is their 20 oz. T-Bone served on a portable table stove.

http://www.pizzelli.ca/SolyMar/fotos.htm

The restaurant is very clean and the service is A-1.

I won't list here Brazilian restaurants because I've already did it in a former post.
In general I'm not too crazy about them considering the fact that they don't serve Virado a paulista.

Virado a paulista (Virado São Paulo style) is a hearty traditionnal Brazilian dish served every Monday. I guess it's served that day because it gives you a lot of energy to go thru your week. Virado a paulista is made of Brazilian white rice, fried eggs, black beans thickened with corn flour (tutu de feijão), grilled and crispy pork skin strips (torresmo), fried pork chops and fried sausages (lingüiça), fried bananas, and steamed collard greens (couve)

VIRADO A PAULISTA: http://tvtem.globo.com/culinaria/receita.asp?EditoriaID=25&codigo=3879

I'm also sad that we don't have Piola's Pizza in Montreal. Piola is an Italian pizzeria with branches in the Unites States (New York, Miami, Washington, and a couple of cities in Florida), Chile, Argentina, Mexico and even in Turkey.

My favorite spot is the one on Avenida Canario, in Moema, just a flew blocks away from my condo:

Kronos, she'll forgive you for choosing the second most expensive...LOL

No, she won't.

By the way I'm the picky and spoiled one. It's more for me than for her.

For my part, I'm really curious to know, where in Montreal, we can have our sushis served on humans....

If Kronos wants to make it really, really expensive, perhaps he can arrange takeout from Kaizen and then after unpacking the sushi, arrange it on your body so that both of you can eat it? Is this what you are suggesting? The concept of doing DATY with wasabi is an interesting one, but I suppose it could be an irritant to the body.

Kronos might also look into the possibility of making a sushi wrap on his penis for you to sample. If he can stay erect and they could completely coat it with sushi rice and seaweed, the possibilities are limitless for you to combine sushi with a good blow job.

Meanwhile these ideas are driving up Kronos' total bill higher and higher, to the point where he may get excited, prematurely ejaculate and then spoil the meal.:)

I doubt you'll be treated to nyotaimori outside of a private party.

Not a very good idea, Maria will soon be a domination Mistress. I'll probably end up as the table eating sushi off myself.

Boustan

Hi everyone

I know it's not much, but I was in town last night for the first time in 2 years

After my second session last night, I was in the search of some fresh air, so I left the Hyatt, and walked down towards Crescent Street admiring the young ladies along the way

Both the Fashion party at Place McGill and the Crescent Street Anniversary party were in full swing !!

I went to Boustan, as Eager Beaver's question intrigued me

I never had a Schwarma ( sp ?? ) before, so I asked the lady at the counter to make me a beef , and a chicken one to go..

It really was fanatastic tasting !!

I watched them assemble the sandwich , and grill it.

I really think that grilling the sandwich added to the experience- adding smokiness to the melange of flavors

I really wish I knew what toppings they put on the sandwich

I wish I had more time to do some more eating homework- but I will be back soon

Best Regards and Bon Appetit

Boustan

Hi Smuler,

Good to hear that Boustan still makes a good shawarma, and thanks for personally answering my question! The ingredients of a shawarma pita pocket include pickled and raw veggies, chicken or beef, and its topped with a tahini-yogurt lemon sauce. The way Boustan makes it is more of a tahini lemon sauce with very little yogurt. I have eaten many of these sandwiches there over the years. There is a similar kind of place in the Complex Desjardin food court, serving Lebanese style fast food, but it's not as good as Boustan.

Its especially good at 3am, with a side of fried potato or rice, but there are usually a lot of people waiting... of course if you're with the right person, you get called to the front of the line ;)

Hi EB

Thanks for the quick reply regarding the ingredients of the sandwich

I really was quite impressed with the flavor

I know it is fast food- but quality fast food can be quite a revelation

I will PM you when I return in the fall for a " homework assignment "

Any good Indonesian food, as I tend to frequent Amsterdam quite a lot ??

Best Regards
