I hate to disagree with you on this one, but Kovy did have his stick....half of it, that is. He looked like a kid who had just lost his chocolate bar to a bully! :D

Watch it in full screen, it doesn't appear that he has any part of the stick with him. Lol.

"In an attempt to avoid losing one of their emotional sparkplugs they (the Bruins) submitted a video clip to NHL Senior Executive Vice President of Hockey Operations Colin Campbell that they believed showed Lucic's gloved hand striking Lapierre's neck and head before his stick."

Even the Bruins do not believe that ONLY Lucic's hand/glove struck Lapierre in the face.

Whatever. If Cammalleri's sucker punch to Martin Havlat's face didn't warrant a suspension, neither did Lucic's.

Sorry Doc but if Carcillo sits for the love tap he gave Talbot in game one of the Flyers Pens series, Lucic got off easy...Carcillo's hit wouldn't have knocked down my 10 year old daughter.

In any case, suspending Lucic was a no brainer for the NHL... B's were up 2 games to none...now it's 3-0.

It will be interesting to see if AVERY gets a one game suspension after HIS sucker punch hit to the head of the CAPS goalie tonight... less than two minutes to go with the CAPS up 3-0...and Cambell said that he warned all of the TEAMS about sending messages when the games were out of reach...

The CAPS would be better of he he doesn't...since he took some really stupid penalties tonight.

Carcillo was suspended because his action was premeditated & happened near the end of the game. Lucic's hit wasn't premeditated, plus it was Lapierre who ran at him.

Anyways, big deal. They didn't need him anyways. If he would have played, it would have been 5-2 Boston, maybe more. But i just wish that the NHL would show consistency when handing out punishment & also take notice who's doing the dirty hits. Carcillo is no Milan Lucic & never will be.

Which big name players are going to be gone from the Habs next season to free agency?

The Habs have some big names? Now, that's something to ponder on.
Okay, they have Kovalev, even though he's never scored more than 44 goals & never had a 100 point season in his entire career. He's on the downslope of his career & in his mid 30's. He'll likely be gone since he'll want more money than he's worth & he wants to end his career on a winning note, which definitely won't happen in the Habs' case for the next 5+ years.

If Koivu is considered to be a big name, he's gone. I've found him to be very overrated & an average, injury-prone player for most of his career. He would have been invisible with any other team in the entire NHL, including even the Leafs.

Komisarek will likely be gone to free agency....very overrated & he'll probably receive offers in the $4 million+ range.

Tanguay might stay if he gets a decent offer, but the Habs should stay away from him since he's injury-prone & also overrated.

They also have a bunch of other free agents, unrestricted & restricted, which other teams won't care much about. Like usual, if the Habs decide to sign them, they'll probably overpay them. It's their track record.

In total as of today, the Habs have 11 potential free agents.

Good call on the 2 goal win Doc! :D

I might not know a lot of things, but one thing that i do know is my hockey. ;)

But i'll likely be wrong on my other prediction where i had said the Bruins will win in 5 games. They'll end it tomorrow night & the score won't even be close. Hey, that's another prediction! :D

Well I have to congratulate the Bruins for playing another good game and putting the Habs on the brink of elimination. Seeing the interview with Koivu after the game I doubt that things will be any different in the next game.

I feel things might have been a little different in the series if Halak had been in nets instead or Price but hey, them's the breaks. And I think the Bruins owe a big thank you to the Leafs for putting Markov and Schneider out of action because I think it would have been a different series with those two players healthy and in the line up.

In any case, once this series is over I will be cheering for the Bruins. They deserve it.

Ummmmmm,

My gorgeous betting opponent should be visiting the SAQ sometime soon so that my prize wine can be properly chilled when I receive it.

not so fast there Merlot, i can see Le Habs taking 2 in Le Bell Centre (crossing fingers)

Maybe not...lol. :D And Lucic wasn't even allowed to play. So don't strain your fingers too hard wishing on this series buddy. You might injure yourself uselessly.

Cheers,

Merlot

Most Habs players are overrated and only the Habs would overpay such mediocre players. That's fascinating hockey knowledge you've got there!

20/20 hindsight is amazing, aint' it? Funny, but i've been saying exactly this all season long & no one was taking me seriously, you included. Habs suck!!

If, if, if!!!! Too many ifs!!

Price wasn't the reason that the Habs are getting steamrolled by the Bruins in this series. You can't win any series by scoring a grand total of 5 goals in 3 games!!! Price did even better than most people expected. Halak ain't as good as people now seem to think. The Leafs embarrassed him last month at the Bell Center in a game i attended. He was awful!!!

As for thanking the Leafs for putting Markov & Schneider out of action, they'll take credit for Markov (on a clean hit), but not for Schneider. He barely missed a game after the supposed injury. But that's what happens when you have 50 year old defencemen playing 25 minutes a game!!! They get worn out!! That's also what happens when you have no debt whatsoever on a team & you have to recall a raw rookie from Switzerland who's never played a game in the NHL prior to the playoffs & now is playing the first unit of the powerplay.

The Bruins were without their sparkplug, Lucic......and they still managed to easily beat the Habs. No excuses. By the way, what the hell was Gainey thinking by having Georges Laraque on the 1st line & playing close to 13-14 minutes a game?? What the hell was he thinking by having Gregory Stewart & Tom Kostopoulos on the ice when trailing by only 1 goal and only a few minutes left to play? Mind-boggling!!!

No offense but when it comes to your evaluation of the Habs, I still don't take you seriously (a Leafs fan being unbiased when it comes to the Habs, really?). Plus I never said the Habs were good.

Just take your post above, again filled with exaggerations and hyperbole.
The Bruins steamrolled the Habs? Beat them easily? When 2 of 3 games ended with an empty net goal? Yeah right.

I was once a Habs fan, believe it or not. Many, many moons ago! :D

Yes, the Bruins have until now streamrolled over the Habs. Don't let the stats fool you. It was never close. "A walk-in-the-park." ;)

My My are we quick to kick to the Habs!

This was the same team that clocked the Bruins last year!

Why the Habs play like shit.. Who knows! Are they playing to their potential. NO!

I saw last night a team that did what they were told to do, but not a team that wants to win!

Montreal needs a new buyer, they need a new GM a new coach and a new team! Might as well scrap what we have and start fresh.

Clocked the Bruins??? If I recall correctly the 8th seeded B's kicked the snot out of the Habs for 6 games but eventually succumbed in GM 7. I would call that far from "Clocking" a team. Actually the perfect definition of "Clocking" a team is what the B's are doing to the Habs THIS playoff series! :D
