No More Avocados!

I was really looking forward to getting a nice Cobb Salad for dinner Thursday night but it looks like that's not going to happen:

Shortly before the Super Bowl, the U.S. suspends avocado imports from Mexico

The suspension would not affect game-day consumption as those avocados had already been shipped.

I guess Avocados are going to be SUPER CHEAP in Canadian markets this week because Mexico has no place else to send them and they ripen pretty fast off the vine. Start planning your weekend Guacamole dip now!!!!!

We can stop avocados from crossing the border but we welcome illegal aliens with open arms. Sad.

Who is really getting punished in this is the Mexican avocado farmers and the avocados themselves, which need to be eaten. Instead they will ship to Canada at dirt cheap prices and it will be a good time to have Guacamole dip this weekend in Montreal.

It occurred to me that American sushi restaurants will also suffer as many different rolls, like California roll and Eel and Avocado roll, not to mention numerous other rolls and special rolls that use Avocado as either a main or key ingredient.
