Just wondering how most of you deal with a no show. I've never had the experience until last night. Confirmed with the SP the day before, and when the agreed upon time came up nothing.
No call, email nothing. The SP is well reviewed and advertises so I really don't get it..
Would appreciate some enlightenment please..thks

Hmmm...ask a question in English and get an answer, possibly, I didn't translate it, in French. Makes alot of sense. Real helpful to the non French speaker.

Même chose pour ceux qui répondent en anglais à une question posée en français :)

I do not care who started it. It is only polite to respond to a thread starter's question in the same language it was asked. To do otherwise is rude and probably pointless as there is a good chance the original poster may be fluent in only one language. If anyone intends to stir up language problems on MERB they will soon find themselves on the outside looking in.

If you cannot respond to a member in the language he has posted his question in, please do not respond at all or use an online translator to translate your post before posting it.

Any attempt to argue this point will not end well.

En tout respect pour vous, j'espère seulement Monsieur Mod 8 que vous allez agir avec autant de justice lorsque quelqu'un me répondra en anglais à une question que j'aurai posée en français...

This goes for any language, Maxime. If the thread starter has asked a question, the reply to it should be in the same language using a translator if necessary. Doing otherwise is considered rude. If someone wishes to make a bilingual post that is also fine. There is no place for language wars on MERB and if anyone wishes to start one, I will end it very quickly.

Hello HRJ,

Stay calm. If you are still interested in seeing the lady, try to get an explanation from her politely. The situation could have been beyond her control or something unexpected that is a bit overwhelming and has absorbed her attention since then. Do what you can to find out what happened then decide if you want to continue seeking some time with her. Remember, she has total control of what you want and the way you approach this may and probably will determine how this turns out. In the end she has all the cards except for a report here from you, and you don't want to create a situation where you become undesirable to meet. So if you are still interested, handle with courtesy and care.

Good luck,

Merlot

Although pure no shows are unusual, cancellations are not, and I plan for them. So I would treat a no show as an effective cancellation. You wait 30 minutes then call someone else. If the original appointment shows, you tell her she should have called, and that you moved on. It's really that simple.

In my previous post I presume there was a lot of interest in this certain lady, and that that interest has not ended. But in the moment, yes, of course. I would do the same as suggested above. To save the night you can't allow too much time for a resolution. Choices are disappearing as you wait and after a fair amount of time without contact (45-60 minutes for me) you must consider the old appointment useless. It's time to go elsewhere.

Cheers,

Merlot

I did not react negatively to her, I did leave a polite message asking if all was OK and if we can plan for another time. What disappoints is that she did not have the courtesy to reply. Anyhow we move on to better girls..
I personally could not do the same for a meeting or appointment without some kind of notice or apology..

BTW I don't mind the response in a different language. Thanks for the feedback...

Hello HRJCT,

Just found this post and had to chime in. The advise of Merlot and EB is spot on...I cannot really add much to it.
While I have never had a no show, I have had a cancellation (and for a very valid reason)...but I got a call well before the appointment and did reschedule with the lady. I was also able to move to plan B for that night.
Like you, the no call would irritate me the most. It probably falls into the "shit happens" category.
Forget it and move on...life is too short.

Have fun,

Jman

I've had a couple of no-shows in the past. Mostly with indys. All pre-booked days (or a week) ahead of time. That's why i no longer do pre-bookings & rarely use indys. Too frustrating.

Upon further reflection, i once was chatting with a former indy & she suggested we finally meet. I agreed. She was supposed to arrive within 2 hours & never showed up. I finally heard back the next day from her after she replied to a couple of emails i had sent her to see what had happened & she told me some 'john' had attacked her with a knife. I gave her the benefit of the doubt. Made another similar date with her at a later time....once again her suggestion. Well, surprise-surprise, she cancelled again less than an hour before she was supposed to show up. Supposedly the driver got lost on the way to picking her up & she had no ride into town. I didn't get upset. I simply chuckled & shook my head in disbelief. I realized then that it just wasn't meant to happen.

The SP that was a no-show was K.I.M. I agree with Raver, this board is to inform good and bad..

The only no show I ever had was Kiki. The first time she called back the next day with an excuse I don't regard as worthy of her intelligence. I still haven't heard from her after the second (several months ago). I think that I got "bumped in the night" the first time. The second I have no idea and long ago lost interest.

thats why i never go with indys, even if you look at the most well reviewed indys, in among all the great reviews is a bunch of no call no shows, not worth the aggravation and they usually charge more too!
