I am not troubled with little things in life. It does no good to be angry or upset because all that does is make you old before you ready. And life is also too short to waste with hostility or sadness.
Every place is different and must take time to adjust to. Moving to Montreal has not beeen any different for me. But today I made the mistake thinking everything was over and I was settled.
WRONG...
Like Belgium, Haiti or France it appears that Quebec is like most french societies with a love of bureaucracy and paperwork. But the people are always wonderful, culturally rich and such a joy to be around.
But....
Today was one of those days for me. (I'm hoping I'm using the term correctly)
It started out very normal and regular. I got up at 06h15 and started my day with some streatching and then into my work out. Around 07h30 I was finished and in the shower. Everything was okie dookie.
I have been fighting with the bell sympatico for 2 weeks. First it was the fact that I have noise in my phone. And then it was for them to fix my internet problems.
I finally got highspeed access and the noise on my fixed line working. But today I could log on to the internet but could not load any pages. So I tried dial up only to find my phone was broken again. (No dail tone.)
Not a concern I have a portable phone...
Wrong, it stopped working too. So I put on my shoes and decided to walk to the store where I purchased it. They could not find the problem and told me to go to their big office.
Because I can not get any calls without my portable phone. I went to the big office in the central business area of Montreal. I argued with the man behind the counter for almost 1 hour before he called his boss. And for the next hour they talked to someone on the phone to try and fix the problem. All this time I waited quietly.
The problem they find is that my phone is a pre-paid phone account. I must purchase more time in order for it to work. I spend 30 mins. more arguing for them that I do not use my portable to make calls. And I find out that I must pay for calls I recieve too. (Very strange to me... And all are like this.)
So from there I go to Bell sympatico and begin to argue with them. They make me file a complaint, fill out forms, etc. And at the end of it only to come home and find a message on my answering machine. It said, "sorry Ms. Jeanne the service man said the disruption to your phone service was caused by the men repairing the apartment roof."
And finally, my highspeed internet access is now working again.
So I guess for all those that tried to call me today. Call me tomorrow because I need a hot bath and a cup of tea to make my feet stop hurting and headache to go away.
