Thats not what bothered me..its the rudeness behind it..if you don't like a guys picture at least say sorry ur not my type and thats it. I won't bother you anymore. but to ask my picture and immediately blocking me without saying a word...well thats pretty darn rude and impolite.

You want to date someone, who is 20 years younger than you...so let say you want a 20-25 years old chick who is probably receiving hundreds of messages per week (trust me, i speak from experience as a young chick who were used to go on this kind of sites, a couple of years ago), without forcing yourself? Without showing you are interested in their personality? You want to approach them with a "hello" plain and simple...when you don't even have a picture...and you are expecting those girls to reply to you when they get 50-75 messages per day of guys who are working their ass off to get in touch with them, telling them how they liked a certain part of their profil, having pictures of them...you really think your "hello" can compete with all the other messages they are receiving?

The thing is, as it's been said before, that girls become lazy on dating sites because their get so many messages. They have absolutely no work to do, just filter what they get. Most of them don't even bother to reply when they're not interested.

I have wrote to many women on dating sites, carefully reading each profile line by line to get a glimpse of what their interests are and to see if there's a possibility of connection, and i tried to personalize my messages by what i have read and get their attention with that. It never worked. It gets frustrating and the last time i used those sites, i realized that i started to care less and less about their profile because it was obviously useless. Then i just looked at photos....the lesson i learned is that even if you do care about their profile, it doesn't give you any advantage. And no, i don't try to date woman 20 years younger than me. I'm in my early 30's and not looking too bad, and it didn't change a damn thing.

Obviously if you send 50 messages and it says "Hi" and you have no picture or profiles, you're probably still not going to get any replies. Like you said, that's just the nature of the game. The operative word is "Ladies", and it's not always true. I've known many guys who acted like total jerks, talking to the women as if they were tramps, also telling them how they love to bang married women, and widely making it known what raunchy thing they like to do to women. Yes, many of the women were as bad as the men, but a lot of others were ladies who still went for the guy because of looks and build...and excitement. Some of the women I knew very well as ladies for a long time and they still went with pigs. These jerks seem to get what they want often...some of them real ladies.

As for dating sites, I tried it for a while. It was easy to meet women with the way I write to them, with some success afterward. I had good but not impossible standards, but most often I didn't meet someone I liked enough, and sometimes they probably felt the same way. It didn't seem worth it after a while.

Honestly, I have no idea what I'm supposed to write there on POF. I would really like to get in some kind of relationship with english or french speaking girl to learn more local culture and master communications skills (I'm totally serious about culture thing, I learned English/French in my twenties and I didn't have any experience on that personal level so far). I think it my time to contribute to the thread with a story about online dating...

So I was subscribed to an online dating site and well it is kinda difficult to meet girls that way ... E-mails sent and I think people are too lazy to reply because it requires work and energy on their part ... But that is not the point of this story

So I was thinking ... It will be a fun thing to meet up with this girl ... I was not really expecting a great experience ... But I was more intrigued about what was out there sexually on the online dating site ... From the start she was difficult to set an appointment with ... Like I can't at this time or that time ... We finally got to meet up at some dodgy motel ... She tells me the prices ... Of course she doesn't know that I know that she is on a online dating site ...

For me it was a funny situation (and also brought me down to earth) coz when you see all these online dating ads and how they market this concept to you ... it makes you think that the girls out there with their profiles are actually goodies goodies, girl-next-door type ... and maybe they are messed up too or greedy ...
