I agree with this. We live in the era of political correctness and I do not care much for that. It prevents people from expressing their opinions and facts. If something is true but they cannot say it without being accused as racist or homophobic.
It's more like we can't take the criticism... What happened to her is a real tragedy. If she made this kind of statement public, she had to deal with the backlash of said statement PUBLICLY. Obviously the threats were excessive but what happened to the middle ground? What happened to good old debates over drinks until someone passes out?
