I agree with your point, it's not perfect. I'll give you a recent detailed exemple since you seem genuinely curious. Over the course of the meeting, the lady said: she had a kid; had previously owned a small business; had previously driven a truck for a specific company; owned a condo. In light of the personal information she had disclosed (without me asking) and of her appearance I concluded that she was most likely around 35 years old (not 25 as posted).

All these things are plausible on their own, but all of these at once at 25 is a little suspicious indeed lol. If someone's going to lie about their age they should probably avoid revealing too much about themselves because eventually it won't add up, like this case here. I mean it's not impossible but it's very unlikely.

Most agency girls I see end up telling me their real age.

Sometimes, the age is spot on with what is on the website.

Sometimes, there is a big difference.

Sometimes, just a small difference.

hard to come up with any "rule".

Quite true. However many clients also lie about their age. So in a way it’s a two-way street.

Several years ago i noticed a few agency girls who’d go indy and advertise themselves as being 18. However i found it odd that some of them had been working for a then-popular agency for a year or two. So one time i decided to contact one of them & pointed out that if they are actually 18 then it would mean they worked previously as underaged escorts. The reply i get was simply ‘yes i was 17 when i worked for so-and-so’. I wasn’t sure what to think. I concluded that it could be possible that they preferred lying about their current age in order to market themselves as an 18-year old instead of as a 19 or 20-year old. Although quite possible that they had started out in the biz as underaged it was as likely that they were 18 at the time & now lying about their actual age…for marketing reasons.

I'm seeing age gaps of approximately 10 years between reality and posted age (outcall agency). A little more truth in advertising would be much appreciated.
I dont understand why agency do that. It might seem like a good idea for short term business but it's quite bad over a long period. They will book new girls easier by "altering" the stats. But in the end, they are just fooling their regular clients since they are the one who will mostly see the new girls with no reviews. The clients who use an agency rarely or as a 2nd, 3rd agency will mostly see girls "safe value" girls with good reviews. For some agency, I used to see the news girls and I wasnt afraid of a bad experience. Now I play the waiting game.

Also, if she came to America along Christopher Columbus, she aint 25yo.

How does one know when the age advertised isn't exact? Do you ask the lady her real age or you just have a specific idea of what people look like at a certain age and assume based on that?

Some people genuinely look younger or older than their actual age !

Its not just agencies doing this

In some cases of course, but we can be wrong in many cases too because not everyone looks their age.

Haha, yeah, if she's been 22 for 5 years something doesn't add up. I was wondering how people go about knowing someone's actual age when it's the first time they see their ad/see them. If you know for a fact it hasn't changed in years then that's obvious and different
Haven’t you noticed that some people have been on merb since before you were born? So they would have noticed someone starting out at let’s say 19, but many more years later she only went up to 21-22. I’ve picked up on that already in the past few years.

For me a good rule of thumb is to add at least 5 years to the posted age. Of course you can only know that by knowing someone’s real age. I just ask if I’m interested in knowing. They usually ask me too.

Agree not everyone looks their age. IMO it would be fair to advertise the age you LOOK rather than your actual age. It’s all marketing. Some will be looking for women that are more mature physically and mentally, so advertising a younger age won’t attract everyone.

Honestly, it doesn’t matter what their age is if you’re there enjoying yourself.

My feeling on this is that an older sp being advertised as younger than she really is can hurt the sp more than anything. I once saw an sp who looked closer to 40 more than her advertised age of 30. The reason i saw her was because some boards blowhard saw her & claimed that she didn’t look a day over 25! But i must admit that when she walked into my room i was disappointed & felt mislead. Manipulated. I also felt that the guy who said that she looked about 25 was either blind or totally lying. Anyways at least the sex part was great! Lol

But i’m as guilty of this as they are & undertand the business side of it. A few years ago an sp i used to know well decided she needed to make a return to the business after being away for a decade. She contacted me & asked me for my help & advice in planning her return. She didn’t want to work for any agencies either. If my memory is accurate she was now about 32. But it was my feeling that she could easily pass herself as early 20’s. This woman was in tremendous shape, had never had children & had a youthful looking face. So i advised her to list herself as 24. She refused & insisted in listing herself in her actual age since she didn’t want to be dishonest & wasn’t ashamed of the age she was. I told her she need not to worry about advertising herself as being younger since now nearly everyone else was doing it. Agencies, sp & clients would often lie about their ages. So she didn’t take my advice & listed herself as being 32. Two weeks later she had yet to get a single booking. She was panicking & now starting to feel unwanted…rejected. So we had a lunch meeting & i told her it was time to implement my plan A suggestion which was to advertise herself as 24. Anyways i also told her it was time to implement plan B which was for us to turn back the clock several years & we’d see one another as client-escort & i’d write a review of our encounter. The publicity would possibly help. But since i had no intention of sleeping with her i had been hesitant about mentioning it. But before i could mention what my plan B was she blurted out “I thought about something the other day but didn’t know how you’d react: how about we have an encounter like we used to have…you’d actually be my very first client on this comeback & you could write a review?” I laughed & said “OMG! This is what my plan B is!”

Anyways plan B worked to perfection but the most important part was lowering her advertised age. And she did undergo a name-change after deciding to take my advice & lower her advertised age. But her comeback was a success! But she did sometimes confess to her real age since many customers didn’t believe that she was 24 & actually were certain that she was younger! “There’s absolutely no way that you’re a day older than 21!”, one client told her. Anyways there’s a reason why agencies & sp market themselves as being younger than they actually are: because it works.

I changed my advertising when I came back last December, saying I am late thirties since it's true. Suddently, I have so many young guys contacting me (28-34) and it's not the clientele I wish to attract. It never happened at this rate before, it was a few from time to time. So, I recently changed it to "in my thirties" and now, thanks to this thread, potential clients will think I'm 50. I can't win :(

Giselle, in your case (you show your face) I would advice just putting the year of where the photos were taken at the bottom as a "watermark".

EDIT: I am surprised that a SP advertising as late thirties would attract more younger guys than someone who is "in their thirties". Would anyone know why that is?

I said it in the past, agencies have no shame in misleading clients about their girls' age. As Sylar said, it's only marketing since most men go for younger ladies.

And again, this does not apply to Indies.

I feel like the 30-39 year age range (real age) is the one that generates the most confusion in advertising, precisely because real ages are not being advertised by agencies.

<30: "young"
30-39: ???
>40: MILF

P.S: I've had excellent experiences with escorts in their 30s (real age).
