when msft was fighting the browser war, they offered up IE for free to drive away netscape.
If I were an expensive agency owner, I would start another agency and offer up a few girls at cost to force the other guy out, since he will not be able to make money at those prices. And of course, once they other guy folds, lo and behold....
Now, if the other agencies are following the prices down in general, maybe that might be a different matter. But as of now.....

Poor economy, US$ almost par with CND$, dozens of new girls joining agencies every month......a price war was bound to happen.
Popular girls will stay at 180-200, but the ones who sit in vans chewing gum and reading comic books all night while waiting to see 1 or 2 customers will work for the 120- 130/hr agencies.
One thing is for sure.....Ben will be busy keeping up with the changes....lol

I actually had written about this in my last post, but then deleted it prior to posting as it would be called shitstiring. Now that the thread has been legitimzed my thoughts: To some degree an oligopoly exists in online agencies. Lately, it's evident that some price competition has broken out. This is probably short term as at some point cost of product becomes inflexible as resources will be diverted elsewhere.
i.e. Enjoy the cheap pussy while it lasts. At some point the girls will journey elsewhere (Vancover, Toronto, Dubai, wherever the $$$$ are....)or they will figure out some other occupation pays more or at these prices they will start "hitting" us up for extras.

There is a new sandwich shop in my neighborhood and they offered customers a free small sub for their first week - no strings attached. Wasn't half bad and I will almost certainly go back and be a paying customer.

you're paying the out.of.towner tax...Recession what Recession, i would happily pay a little extra to get to see the ladies i want to see
doesn't nec'ly mean she's working more, or if she can sustain those rates in today's climate.

It's winter in Montreal. The number of tourists visiting your city is down at this time. The price wars will cease in a couple of months.

Most of the workers in the States are taking a pay cut in lieu of losing their jobs.
The agencies that charge $180/HR or $200/HR (or $300/HR) may not have many clients for their ladies. Or, the ladies prefer to see fewer clients. If the SP delivers great service, the cutomers, including me, usually give them a generous tip.
I do love price wars, especially in this bad economy.
For the non-locals like me, the cost of flying and lodging in Hobbyland eats away at what I can spend on the lovely ladies.
When prices drop to $120/hr for hot ladies, I'm booking my flight and hotel immediately to lovely Montreal.

Just wondering are the agencys that only advertise in the Journal de Montreal and geared more towards locals have the same standard rate ($180) as the agencies that advertise on Merb?

You don't know how much I wish I could.
Like most knockleheads, I invested in Lehman Brothers and now my investment in that bankrupt company is worth less than US$10; I had invested over US$50K. And I didn't liquidate my real estate investments before the market collapsed. Yes, don't cry for me Argentina.
I keep checking priceline and others. LOL.

Am I seeing things or did Chris just lowered his hourly rate for PSE (which is more intesnse than GFE, I think) for $150 at GOF.
Now, I wonder if John at Eleganza will continue operating status quo, except for his new awesome website, or adjust his prices as well.

the title of his announcement thread (pse at 150$) was refering to one prticular girl (beverly) that offers that service at that price, not that all the pse girls were at that price...
Correct. I'm glad I caught this before booking my emergency trip to Montreal! If the prices dropped to $150 across the board I would be there in a heartbeat.
Allow me to explain it to you. The PSE price is normally $200, so the savings would really be $50. If your familiar with bidding on Priceline, you would know that you can get a hotel like the Hyatt in the $60 range. Since I am saving about $50 per engagement (more like $100, because I like to have 2 appointments a day), the hotel and the airfare are almost completely paid for because of the difference. Yes, JJ, I can really "afford to go on this trip in the first place", but I wouldn't even need to think about it if the prices went down by $50 or more.

for out-of-towners, especially those on company paid trips, the diff is nothing.
It is about enlarging the customer pool - at $150, you are starting to seriously pull in the locals?
