I have problem trying to use the Merb search function . If I type in say an SP's name alone ; I get a mass of irrelevant hits . If I add an agency or indy to the name I usually get more junk or some times nothing . If I attempt an advanced search I get nothing .
I have no difficulty searching other web sites to obtain information .
What am I doing wrong ???

In advanced search put ''Search titles only'', that should help.

The thing is when you search, for example, Julia Sky, you're gonna see every thread that has a post in it with either ''Julia'', ''Sky'' and ''Julia Sky'' written in them, and also all the posts I've made and the ones other girls with Julia or Sky in their name have made.

By selectioning ''search titles only'' you'll get fewer results as the search will focus on titles that contain ''Julia'', ''Sky'' and ''Julia Sky''.

Thanks for your responses. I knew where to find the Advanced search option. My problem is how to use it to get a response ! I'm confused over the correct use of the user's name and Tag functions
What is the correct user's name , mine or the subject for whom I'm searching ??Who or what do I use for the Tag ??

You don't have to fill in all the boxes on the Search page. If you want to search posts by a specific member, type their handle in the box, if not, just leave it blank.

But what if the search results provide threads with 50 pages? How do you then find Julia Sky within each thread?
I have been opening them starting at the end and scrolling through each page to try to find the highlighted words 'Julia' or 'Sky', etc.... (I'm using Julia Sky only as an example) Thanks

This I have no idea. You could select a time frame in advance search (Find posts, say, a month and newer) so it gives you an idea but I don't know
