"Farine" is French for "Flour".

This is more of less the same view...

Although the view looking north is preferable, I had a very nice panoramic view looking south towards the St. Lawrence River. I could also see the Adirondack Mountains (I assume) looming on the southern horizon, like silhouetted sentinels. I also saw a building which had on its roof a large neon sign which said, "Farine Five Roses." Not sure what this business is. Across the street and in front of the Bell Center is a large building which partially obfuscates the view.
... you get from some of the rooms at the Hilton Bonaventure and the Marriott Champlain, specifically the ones facing south.

I can distinctly remember at both hotels, and just for the fun of it (knowing that there are no other buildings nearby with a view of my room), throwing open the curtains and me and my new friend standing nude at the window enjoying the view and making out simultaneously.

I could see the Marriott Chateau Champlain from my room at the Sheraton. My sense was that I was a lot higher up (31st floor) and had a much better view than what you can see looking south from either of those hotels that you mentioned. It should be noted that the Sheraton goes up to a 37th floor. I don't know how many floors the Marriott Chateau Champlaign has but I seemed to be looking down at it. That could also be because the land slopes down the 2 or 3 blocks south and east going to the Marriott, putting its base at a lower elevation than the Sheraton's.

I did have one guest chair but no loveseat or sofa, which is one advantage the Omni has over this hotel in the 4 star category.

The last time i stayed at the Sheraton, i visited a hobbyist`s room & to my great surprise, his had a sofa!! I was under the impression that the hotel had got rid of all their sofas a couple of years ago.

I've attended gangbang events in hotel rooms and if you ever were at one, you'd not want to stay over night in a room which had hosted an event the night before.

I can think of one particular event where we were screwing this chick on every surface of the room you could think of. On the floor, on the bed. We did a bukkake with her lying on the coffee table, she did cowgirl and reverse cowgirl on a couple of guys on the couch in the small living room and she would squirt when she came (she could shoot a stream easily twenty feet out) which means she basically marked every surface in the room, maybe with the sole exception of the ceiling.

I don't know how often they change the bedcovers on hotel beds or whether they do any real cleaning of the other surfaces.

I got together often with Allyson at Celine's and she had this thing about taking all of the bedcovers off the bed and only lying directly on the bedsheets for this reason.

jackyo1983,

It's a good point, although it's been discussed elsewhere. I have seen suspected semen stains on hotel carpets, bed covers and even on chairs. A good rule of thumb is to do what Allyson did, remove the bed covers which I don't believe are routinely cleaned as are the bed linens.

Realistically however, it should be noted that a dried semen or pussy juice stain is as likely to present a health hazard as a dried cranberry juice stain. It's simply the thought of someone else's bodily fluids having been exchange on your upholstery that is bothersome. But mentally bothersome and unhealthy are two different things.

I also learned a thing or two about bedspreads from sps, and today try to return the favor when several of the younger ones don't have a clue of how filthy a bedspead is as compared to what's under the covers & want to initiate things while lying on top of the bedspread. I've also seen sps immediately remove the bedspread from the bed soon after walking into a room at the Omni, but their reason was different & a fairly obvious ones: the bedspreads at that hotel are butt-ugly & probably are the ugliest looking ones in all of Mtl's hotels!

True. Same with many guys going to the bathroom for a piss & then walking back to the bed dripping drops of urine all over the carpet!

A word of advice to hobbyists: while waiting for an sp & needing to go to the bathroom to urinate, make sure you lift up the toiletseat and/or wipe off the droplets afterwards. Also check the floor & observe if there isn't some urine droplets lying on the floor in front of the toilet. I can just imagine what goes on inside an sp's head when she has to use the bathroom soon after arriving & she happens to spot a few droplets between her feet on the floor. Worse, if she has to wipe off urine from the toilet seat! Whenever this occurs, i doubt she's in a frame of mind to provide any type of great GFE serivces.

Hyatt Regency

This might just be my favorite hotel to stay at during the winter months. Why? Since its located atop a shopping mall & access to the underground city & the downtown area via the underground subway (Place des Arts), you don't even have to go outside during your whole stay if its too cold outside! :D

During the summer months, it's an okay place to stay at if you're in town to participate in the various festivals (e.g. Jazz Festival, etc) since they're usually held in the area. You're also next door to Mtl's Chinatown, for those who enjoy chinese cuisine & for sightseeing. Old Montreal isn't very far & you can easily walk to Place Jacques Cartier if you're in a walking mood. A few years ago, i used to successfully bid in the area of $50 on PL and get the Hyatt Regency. What a bargain! Now, with the money exchange rates nearly at par, it's a different story, plus the fact it's now a 4-star on Hotwire. But it's still a steal at $70....some people still have managed to get it in the $60+ range on certain days (via PL). You know, i wish Priceline would upgrade it to a 4-star since it would be less risky to bid on PL. Bidding on 3-star hotels (hoping to get the Hyatt) on Priceline has gotten riskier over the past year since shitholes like the Days Inn & the Plaza (now called the Double Tree) are available as 3-star hotels on PL. Same goes with the HI Select, not exactly one of my favorite places to stay. As for the Hyatt Regency itself, you can't go wrong....but during the summer months, i tend to get claustrophic staying there & i constantly have to take a cab or walk a long distance in order to get to the downtown area where i like to hang out. Here are the pros & cons of this hotel:

Pros: Great location for the festivals; close to Chinatown & a walking distance from Old Mtl; hotel sits atop a shopping mall (Complexe Desjardins); many ATMs nearby; the IGA supermarket located within the shopping mall has everything you need...food, beer, wine, etc.; close access to the subway line via Place des Arts, which is located across the street; Place d'Armes subway station is a short walking distance to the south if you're going to the Bell Center; two of my favorite restaurants are located inside the complex: Baton Rouge & St-Hubert BBQ; one of my favorite places to eat burgers is located within the food court: A&W; decent swimming pool & a decent gym with state-of-the-art equipment; newspapers are available at the reception area; nice lobby lounge & decent bar; the last time i stayed there, the maid that was cleaning my room on those days was a total babe!

Cons: The fact you need to access to elevators in order to get to your room can be bothersome for some, especially when they're not used to the hotel....i've seen many new sps get lost on their way to a room; the location can be great for some, but not that great if you're not interested in festivals & if you usually prefer to spend your free time downtown (Crescent, rue De la Montagne, Peel, etc); no mini-bars in most of the rooms.....you have to use the ice-machine if you need to keep your beverages cold....it's happened to me a couple of times that the ice machine on my floor wasn't working; lousy internet connection....they should scrap the wireless set-up & instead use ADSL like the Sheraton does; the internet rates are somewhat pricey (around $10-11 per day if i remember correctly) considering the fact it's free of charge at many other hotels; for a competitive swimmer wishing to swim laps, go elsewhere....this pool isn't big enough for that. And finally, the hallways are very long....just hope that your room isn't located at the end of the hallway & that the ice machine is located on your half of the hallway (the hallway is split in two by the elevator) or else get ready to do a lot of walking.

All in all, it's a great place to stay at if you manage to obtain it for $60-80 on Priceline. But if you need to go over $80, there are better hotels to chose from which are closer to the downtown area.

How about the Hotel Nelligan? I've stayed there many times. It may be more expensive, but the rooms are large, with a comfortable decor. It's in Old Montreal, which is nice in summer months if you want to go for a run by the water. The restaurant is excellent, though the menu gets old after several dinners--it should be changed more often. I will continue to stay there until I find something better.

Montreal Hyatt hotel evacuated after fire
Canwest News Service
Friday, April 25, 2008

MONTREAL - About 1,000 guests of the Hyatt Regency Hotel in downtown Montreal were evacuated early Friday after a fire broke out on the fourth floor.

The fire started in a garbage container next to the hotel's bar about 4 a.m. Smoke spread rapidly throughout the building, firefighters said.

Guests were evacuated as a preventive measure, but no one was hurt and all were able to return to their rooms about an hour later.

Damages were limited to the bar and the roof, firefighters said.

travellodge renee levesque

probably not a place where most of you will stay as most of you seem to make a lot more $ than me, but anyways, decent motel right next to chinatown,, has an IGA grocery store right across the street,, so beer liquor and food are close by,, had an ice machine,, filled up my cooler with it,, so had decent amount in it,, free,, got a room with double beds as it is cheaper, and it gives me a fuck bed and one i can sleep on,, clean place,, the showers were the smallest ive ever been in,, i could barely fit,, forget about ever getting 2 people in there,, probably want to avoid the room i was in,, i believe it was 222 or 223,, last one in the hall as there was some annoying vent or machine of some sort that kept making a lot of noise right outside the window

CPP, you probably paid more for that travel lodge than most of us pay for other 3* hotels in Montreal. Have you tried using Priceline.com or read through this thread at all?

If you want to try it, send me a PM and I'll explain the whole Priceline concept to you.

cpp433 See the section about hotel bidding or take Special K up on his offer for more info - you'll be glad you did. Priceline doesn't offer the lower prices when you first enter their website...you have to go the the 'name your price' section and commit a bid for a certain price and it is usually in the $50-75 range depending on the hotel star level you want to bid on.
