Look behind you.
This should curl a few toes of the Go Green group. Looks like Quebec is finally going to harvest its vast supply of shale gas ( fracking ) and oil.
It should have been done decades ago... Now I am suspecting that the mayors of the cities that would not allow pipeline due to environmental concerns ( meanwhile they dump millions of barrels of raw sewage into the St.Lawrence river ) will change their minds since it is their own province.
We out west knew all along it was just a way of getting more money from the west, the environmental concern as all bull shit. Looks like the money is not coming in from the electric grids after all and oil and gas is the way. The affordable alternative energy source is not ready yet and will not be ready for 10 years.

Quebec imports so much foreign oil they cut a deal with StatsCan to suppress the actual numbers.
So much for reasonable fact based debate.
Local production should be better for the economy.

Not sure of exact numbers but Canada spent about 100 billion importing oil over the last 10 years. That money could be in our pockets instead of Saudia Arabia or other countries.

Canada is a net exporter of oil, overall. Eastern provinces imports most of its oil (except Nfld), but Alberta exports so much more, mostly to the US (at discounted price thought, du to insufficient pipeline capacity)

If we wait till cars go all electric, the oil will be worth zip.

What are you going to use to generate the electricity?

There is an environmental impact to building hydro dams.

Wind turbines are great but need space and not everyone likes them.

Nuclear?

How about an oil fired generating plant? Oh, yeah, back where we started.

No to nuclear, no to coal.

Fossil fuels only if no other alternative.

Wind is one but the cost versus result is too low.

Water for hydro-electricity does have huge impact, but much less than fossil fues.

As the planet is already heating, number one source will be... the sun! Read up a bit on it you will see.

Germany already made a pledge for 100% electric car by 2030. Norway, The Netherland and even India is currently looking at such as well. Would be wiser right now for Quebec and Ontario to invest more in electricity. Would be wiser for Alberta to do the same!

Cheers,

For those ofyou that think oil only produces gas ( talk about electric cars and leaving itin the ground ) really.

Best poster from a misinformed ignorant protester was " I do not need oil, I take the bus "..... :pound::pound::pound:

Not well informed people who are unemployed and like to run their mouths.

Or all the people who cry about oil usage and they are the greatest world travelers in your circle of friends. Always done by airplane.

I have heard that's not a problem at all with the proper cars. Someone is bragging all the time with all the fuel he did not pay from the time he is having his car. I think it is a Volt, so yes, he got a little gaz motor, but he never went really on the gaz part. I'm envious :pound:

I have members of my family that are engineers and sadly, one is having a very big job for the "oil". (I used sadly because it has to face bad times, and also, it could have been working more for other energies) I can understand to oppose and propose some changing that the Earth is desesperately needing presently. But I know money will run the world until the end, the "money lobby" is just too strong all around the planet. At a point, you have to let it go & "let it be" because you are going to ruin your life being too much sad & angry too much in advance of the extermination of the majority living creatures existing presently on Earth, including humans in the future of course. We are not going to be able to escape of it.

So the oil people, be happy, you are going to make some better money soon, congratulations to you, I am going to visit you and make money related to this too with you. We have to take advantage before dying, I guess it's the more logic illogical thing we can do.

I work at the airport, there are hundreds of electric Prius here all year round. Minus 25 right now and they are running fine.
I have a couple of neighbours with Teslas. Super nice cars and almost silent.
They are good for city driving. I would be worried about going far. You need a charging station and it takes a long time. Can you get emergency adaptors to plug into 120 volts?

Took me awhile to figure out what they were. They have no badges or model names on them.

How much power do these vehicles actually have?

My father bought a Toyota Prius, this a hybrid car which according to my father gets like 52 miles to the gallon. I drove around in the vehicle when I visited him in Florida. Apart from the fact that the car reminds me of an oversized egg, it has no power at all. You hit the gas and it feels like you are in a golf cart. What a total wimpy ass vehicle. It's sad to see my father drive such a wimpy car but he is caught up in all of this energy revolution nonsense.

Any car I drive has to have some muscle. It can't feel like I am riding in a golf cart. Did you guys ever drive in Dodge Charger from around the early 1970s? There was a true muscle car.

Top Gear tested a Tesla and 0-60 was about 3 seconds.

Seriously.

I watched the video, great power. Also to note that they had a power generator there to max out the batteries for their run, not sure of their times after a few runs down the track.
