This is a problem. I don't know about Montreal but all over the world and cabbies bring you to where they will get the best kick-back. I think the concierge may do the same. Usually it is a tourist trap or not the best place. For example, in Rio every taxista will take you to Centaurus or Barbarellas. I had to log into a web site like this to find out about Monte Carlo and Lumo. Same in BA Argentina. They took me to Modelos. Sometimes I think they really believe it. However back in 2001 the Concierge at Omni sent me to the Grand Prix in Richeileu QC I think - this was the one exception. It was the best ever. I thought I had entered heaven and I had to pinch myself.
