Speaking for myself, I find that Montreal is a small city. It's easy to run into people you don't speak to anymore, and it's also easy to make a new friend or start dating somebody who knows someone you don't like. Also, work place environments, schooling, etc.
Hum, it never happened to me so far. I doubt I would allow them back into my life, in any case.

I can be cordial, but I don't have to accept them in my life again.
Absolutely! But they could still be present, or close to people you're still around, even if you don't want to personally engage with them, and that can be frustrating.

A former co-worker you had issues with is hired where you now work. A relative or family member moved to Calgary for 10 years and is now back in town ... i think there are many possibilities to be Kreidered

People have been trolling on internet since day 1. I think in 2026, it’s time you start identifying them and stop engaging with them. You don’t have to reply to every triggering thing or everytime someone tags you/replies to you

I can recognize trolls. I know you're referring to me, I can identify when somebody is vague posting about me. lol. I've actually gotten a lot of trolls banned from this forum. It has made the atmosphere a lot more tolerable for users.

Besides, it's good to actually defend yourself and get the last word.

I disagree with that part. It’s internet, it’s not serious. Winning an internet fight won’t make your life better it’s just wasted time and energy. Letting your interactions with people online, especially strangers, affect how you feel about yourself is an easy way to become miserable

The best way to deal with trolls is reporting them and moving on with your life
