love going to prelib, the nurse at the one I go to is super sweet and chill and the process is so easy

I use to go to my private doctor where thank god insurance covers it because testing is so expensive

My family doctor would always give me grief whenever I asked for a referral for monthly tests, she should shame me that I was a man hoe that would always use protection
Your family doctor was probably jealous and pissed because he/she wasn't getting laid enough and properly at home.

No, but it's actually quite common for drs and pharmacists to shame their patients when asking for STI testing or contraception. It just mostly happen to women.
I know and it really pisses me off. Here are these people that preach the importance of being tested and yet do all they can to shame us out of it.

They should be reported to the Collége des Médecins and other professional organizations.

I don’t want to turn this into a racism debate but I have been told by a lot of people of colour that it was easier for them to get contraception including getting their tube tied.

For a very long time, doctors would even tie tubes without consent when a woman of colour was giving birth. This would happen when there was complications and the person needed to be fully sedated. They would wake up with their tube tied and would never know.

I know I was prescribed contraception before I even asked for it.

TLDR: Yes some doctors let their own personal beliefs taint the way they treat their patients. Very unfortunate.

All of this is true. Medical neglect & abuse due to misogyny, racism, classism, hatred of mentally ill & disabled people and fat phobia are fairly common, and good luck with reporting those doctors. Nothing will happen.

I wish I could find the article that I mentioned earlier, I think it was this:
Physicians and Implicit Bias
Basically doctors, even “good doctors”, like all humans might subconsciously stereotype and apply bias.

To get back on topic tho:
I’m not super active in the hobby, I try to limit my exposure to risk, and I do test at the lilium clinic in laval. Without ramq it was 300 a pop and they still ask all my personal info every time. My original question was wether prelib was more no-question-asked type of place. I remember 14 years ago or so there was a walk in clinic in the village where you just waited for your turn, got tested then got a call- truly no questions asked. The waiting room was an interesting gaggle of people of all shape and sizes…

Prelib has a detailed list that you fill out online when booking the appointment. I went there this summer and everything was smooth and organized. Dm me if u want more details.

The nurse working that day was smoking hot too. Wouldn't be surprised if she was an sp as I've been with 2 sp's that were nurses recently.

Decide to take sti test at the lilium clinic Atwater DT, at 7am, first call of the day

The nurse was a young girl in her early 20s, in fact almost all employees looks in there 20s.

Standard questioning, no judgement ton noticed even when I mention the number of encounters.

Pricy but got result back same day ( all negative btw)

If you want your tests covered under RAMQ you will have to provide your card.

You can go to their site and fill out a lengthy questionnaire about your sexual and drug habits which will then lead to them suggesting certain tests based on your answers.
