yeah but if you start in this business when it's as slow as it is now, you tend to get out asap because you think it's not worth it to escort / massage / stripping..
Correct me if I'm wrong, but from what I see, the only girls still making money right now are the one who have been there for a while and who got a lot of regulars...

I'd THINK (not decide!) to try if the agency owners offer significant discount, probably with money back guarantee, for new girls. Otherwise, I'd stick with well-known agencies and SPs.
Look at those new agencies that advertise themselves here!
They have no repatriation so far, no reviews here, but they offer completely unknown girls for $180-250!

The other hand, even reputable agencies should adjust their expectations and try to figure out that times they have changed and that many guys now we opt for Woman on Passion girls instead of $200/hour Eleganza (that lifted their price when gasoline was 2 times more expensive than now!) because of more realistic price policy.

Also, for the clients who are starting to have tight budgets, I realised that they tend to choose the girls they already know or they have already tried and were satisfied with. I guess some feel the need to make it cost-effective!

IMHO it will be only a matter of time before agencies have to revert to their old rates, which were $130-160 CDN per hour instead of $160-$200 per hour
Also I would expect to see more "last minute deals" much like the travel agencies use, so if business is slow on a given night then maybe they drop the rate another $20
Finally, and I think we are already beginning to see this, is that some girls becoming more liberal with their service to differentiate themselves and attract what few customers are out there

Only the high buck places can afford to reduce prices, the rates were over inflated to begin with.
It only makes sense to reduce rates if it will lead to an increase in business.
IMHO, For most places a rate reduction of 10$ or 20$ is not going to make a positive influence on the bottom line at the end of the month. Reducing too much just means the girls are working more to make the same amount (or less).

If the recession hit the Montreal scene, then why did most agencies that use to charge $160 last year, jack up their prices to $180?

This is the same as increasing the bottom line at the end of the month. If this is the end result then it makes sense. If the bottom line stays the same (meaning working harder to earn the same amount) or it goes down it is bad business practice.
