Well Tech,

Careful now. I've got a hand made heavy solid oak chair, made the old fashioned way. So, in view of that, "you got to ask yourself one question. Do I fell lucky? Well, do ya punk???" :D

Besides, with those coordinates you will only take out Special K, not me. ;)

Hugs,

Merlot

Really? That's good enough for me! :D

And old fashioned oak chairs are prohibited by the HDLM convention of 2007. Any use of them outside the HDLM lounge is a violation and considered a GT crime.

But to be on the safe side, I declare a truce!

Another son, another suspension

What a pleasant family:

Patrick Roy's son suspended 15 games by QMJHL

Another son of former Montreal Canadiens goalie Patrick Roy has been suspended for his on-ice behaviour. The Quebec Major Junior Hockey League announced Monday that it has suspended Quebec Remparts forward Frederick Roy 15 games for a high-sticking offence.

The suspension is in response to an incident that occurred during last Friday's game against the Montreal Juniors in which Roy crossed-checked defenceman Vincent Bourgeois in the face during a stoppage in play.

The league made the decision after reviewing a video of the incident and interviewing all the parties involved.
Roy's suspension comes eight months after his brother Jonathan was suspended for seven games by the QMJHL for participating in an on-ice fight.

Jonathan, a goaltender with the Remparts, attacked the Chicoutimi Sagueneens goaltender during a game. He skated the length of the ice during a brawl between the two teams and bowled over Bobby Nadeau before hitting him repeatedly. He then made an obscene gesture to Chicoutimi's fans.

Patrick Roy, the Remparts' coach, was suspended for five games for encouraging his son during that fight.
Jonathan is facing criminal charges for his actions, and the incident prompted Quebec's sports minister to create a committee to address the issue of gratuitous violence in hockey.

Patrick and Sons...

The apple doesn't fall far from the tree, eh? A family of super hot -headed, tempermental viciousness! Patrick was a super hockey player, hands down, but always had a terrible anger management problem. Now his sons have the terrible disadvantage of having him as father/coach. The result is what is being manifested so predictably. We're being witness to Patrick's impact/influence and horrific character filtered into his own children. What a shame! All that brilliant talent, all those super skills and unprecedented winning attitude - and this is what his kids picked up....a crying shame.
What is meant when a team retires a jersey anyway? Is it the organisation's proud celebration by honouring this player for being an ambassador for this particular team? Patrick certainly wasn't! Because this player was a winner and made his teammates winners?Maybe that's all it took.....sure leaves me with a disgusting feeling in the pit of my stomach......perhaps they should have waited longer for that sour taste in our mouths to go away.....
I loved Patrick Roy when he played for the Habs, he was my hero. But the way he left was because of his terrible temper and uncontrolled feelings. He totally lost my respect and admiration on that infamous day. Yes he deserves to be in the Hockey Hall of Fame. But leave it at that. Having his jersey # retired by the Montreal canadiens' org. was an error in my opinion. I don't know, maybe they needed an excuse for another highlight event for the centennial celebrations this year. Anyhow, just letting my feelings out.....
Peace.
