After more than two decades enjoying the pleasures of Montreal, the pandemic proved to be "voluptas interruptus" for me. I've been on the sidelines since 2019 and I'm just now returning to the game. I can see that things have changed in the last four years. MERB is different, the indy scene is different, and the agency scene is ... ?? I've been surprised to read many discouraging posts about the difficulties of booking with an agency.

I'd appreciate some advice. If I'm planning on using an agency, should I book early? Generally speaking, are the top agencies generally reliable these days? (Please note that I'm not asking for comments on individual agencies, just a general sense. I used Vogue for a number of years and Frankie might remember me, if he's still there.) Or am I better off setting up a date with an indy?

I don't want to stir the pot here or encourage negativity, and I am fine with the prices. I really just want to know how the agency scene has changed since 5-10 years ago and whether I need to update my booking practices.

Thanks!

Hard to get into best booking processes without talking about specific agencies, but in general not too much has changed, in terms of booking practices. If you do some research and observe the advertising/schedule release patterns, you will be better prepared. Best advice I can give, is to contact the agencies that interest you ahead of time, and figure out the earliest you can book in advance, especially if you are eyeing a very popular lady.

Thank you both. That's reassuring and makes complete sense. I've been a bit taken aback by some of the recent laments and complaints about how hard it is to book. As far as specific agencies go, that is something I can research. I simply didn't want to start a thread that seemed to invite whinging about specific agencies, SWs, prices, etc. I can navigate that stuff on my own. (I've also enjoyed some of the memories in other threads about Asservissante, Unicorn Healers, and other past agencies. I remember many of them well.)

From my experience, I haven't had any problems booking with agencies such as VOG, Luxury, Sensation, Velvet and XXXclusive (only outcall for me). They're quick to respond, polite, helpful and they always showed up on time.

Excellent. Thank you all. Now what's all this I hear about indies requiring deposits? And I assume the Habs are in first place? The downtown construction is all finished?
