As a hardcore boxing fan, I applaud the Klitschko brothers.

What they're doing is absolute bravery. These are trying times for Ukraine.

By the way, nothing is gonna happen. They will either divide the country in two and avoid a fully fledged war, or NATO will just abandon Ukraine and isolate Russia economically and politically as much as they can.

I heard an expert suggest the sanctions are so severe, Russia will be a third world country with nukes, like Pakistan. Like Iran, it will have to sell oil at a discount to China as sole client and the infrastructure needed to do well be very expensive. Or ... I pray... some generals will says that's enough and kick Putin out, like they kicked out the communists from August coup in 1991. Let's pray to that

I mean, it doesn't matter to them. They only care about respect.

It wont have much effect, Putin has been preparing for this a long time ago, even before taking the Crimea peninsula in 2014. His estimated war fund is around 800 billions, lets just hope he doesn't attack any NATO surrounding nations because european NATO nations are not ready for this, its a known fact that the european defense are considered weak since 2008.

Canada is a pretty big country. Doesn’t it have a military?
Canada would need the world’s biggest navy to keep everyone out. There are already Chinese ships sneaking through the Northwest Passage.
Some countries are already disputing Canada’s sovereignty in the North, they say the open water is international waters and open to all.

Canada does have a military but in comparison to Russia, it's a joke.

Hell...I'd even say Ukraine has a better army than Canada.

If Russia ever decided to invade Canada, they would mop the floor with us.

It wouldn't even be a contest.

It would take Russia a little longer to conquer Canada because it's such a huge country compared to Ukraine.

Russia will not invade Poland, neither any others, just wants to take back Ukraine. That's all. Trust me. it doesn't want NATO get closer and closer to its backyard. It will cause a threat.
CBC reporters repeatedly saying the West did not listen to Putin's demand: do not let Ukraine joint NATO. The West can not promise, Joe Biden can not promise; so better invade now, rather then later, because if one day Ukraine joints NATO, then all the countries will get involved.

Our modern world is built out of the rubble of the Second World War. That was the last time a European power attempted to violently annex a neighbour. The western world responded to the horrors that followed with a rules-based international system, an over-arching respect for sovereignty, and a strong reliance on collective security. This allowed us to create an unprecedentedly peaceful, interconnected and prosperous world that was unimaginable in the late 1940s—one that lasted generations and ended last night.

Russian President Vladimir Putin, in his pre-invasion address, made it explicitly clear that he intends to make Ukraine a part of Russia. He added a warning to the rest of the world, that attempts to interfere would be met with “consequences you have never seen.”

And so Thursday morning the western world is faced with moving forward along a path that has the precipitous collapse of a stable international order on one side and falling into an open war with an aggressive nuclear power on the other.
