SAQ Strike ?

I'm in Montreal, and I have noticed 2 of the SAQ Stores are Closed (1108 St Catherine near Peel, and 998 Maisonneuve).

I did find the SAQ @ 440 Maisonneuve opened.

SAQ Strike

When I was in Montreal last week I went to the SAQ near de Maissoneuve and Aylmer and I saw a protest/strike going on outside and numerous security guards near the front entrance. I was told that the store would not open until noon so I went to the IGA at Complex Desjardins to buy the liquor I needed.

I don't know what the dispute is all about.

One should go to the outlet on Atwater near the market!
Cannot believe buying wine at a Metro or Provigo or IGA...luckily enough you appear to have survived the experience!

Wine at IGA

I bought two bottles of relatively inexpensive red wine at the IGA. One was an Italian table wine and the other a locally bottled Quebec red wine. Both were well received by the SPs to whom they were served.

I also bought some chocolates at the IGA.

I was very surprised that I was not able to find beef jerky at the IGA. Maybe I just missed it.

The IGA did have a wonderful selection of cheese.

Next time you are in Montreal, go to the Atwater market for bread, cheese and everything else! (no sp though!) Next door you the find the SAQ outlet!
Let me know next time you are in town! Will be pleased to drive you to the market!
And have you taste the Fairmount or St-Viateur bagels!!!!!!! With cream cheese and salmon! Wine to top it all?
