Whats the difference, the threads that are for sports can easily be identified, if you are not interested in them don't read them.

I am interested in them but not interested in sifting through The Lounge to find them.

I totally agree.

There are currently 6 sports-related threads on the first page of the Lounge alone. Shit, there's ONE street action thread and that gets a forum...which oftentimes I wonder why we just don't call it the oliver forum. Lol

It has less to do with being able to identify the sports threads or not reading them if not interested...but more so recognizing this community as having very strong sports interests and acknowledging that a separate sports forum would serve to build the community, encourage participation, enhance the merb experience, and who knows...most likely drive more traffic for advertisers.

I am a member of a few sports forums and know that I would definitely check merb more often than I do now if I was engaged in a sports forum.

It makes sense.

How many sports forums have an escort section? Don't you think having one would drive their trafic up? Ever try suggesting it? I'm sure that more people would check in if they had such a forum.

This is an escort review board with other threads that pertain to the sex industry in Montreal. It is not a general entertainment review board. We have the lounge for threads that are out of the general topic of the board and it has always worked quite well.

As far as sifting through the lounge to find the sports threads, you can just check the new posts thread to find any updated or new threads and there is also a function on the board that will allow you to suscribe to any thread you wish to follow. You can simply suscribe to those threads that interest you and you will be notified when they are updated.

You are assuming the community in sports forums as having a very strong escorts interest. Actually, the lounge section of these sports forums doesn't have 6 escort-related threads on the first page alone, much less 1 like our street action forum. So I don't think it would be prudent to make such an assumption or suggestion to board administrators.

My argument is simply that there is a clear interest amongst the community as evidenced by the number of threads and that addressing this interest in a separate forum could have positive results. Is that spin easier on your sensibilities?

While I appreciate your stewardship to Fred and merb...my mention of other forums was not meant to incite a loyalist response or as negative comparison...only to indicate I for one, would frequent this board a bit more if I could get a sports fix as well.

Regardless of position, I think the suggestion and related criticism is fair.

If only I knew...
But, isn't there PLENTY of sport-related forums on the net?

Sport threads don't get banned on MERB so, I'd say there's no need for a dedicated section nor a need to encourage such threads to be more present: they happen and it's cool with me as it is.

It's possible to discuss sports on MERB and it doesn't need to go beyond this, in my opinion. Those who read MERB looking for sport threads are, in my opinion again, looking at the wrong place. MERB is an Escort Review Board where some peoples happen to yap about sports, not the other way around.

None because they have members that are under 18.

Absolutely fascinating that Nadya is so knowledgeable about the QMJHL. Perhaps things should be considered that would allow providers to show the diversity of their interests.

Perhaps Nadya should have a sports theme on her website - hockey pose, etc.

Hello Super Hiro,

After thinking about it I definitely favor a separate sports section. There are a lot of scattered threads that should be consolidated. Many discussions held on those threads remain relevant for a very long time, and often past discussion are needed for references on current issues. Then, it might be a focal point of interest to attract newbies into participating in areas they are more familar with that may make them feel more comfortable with everything else on the board leading to broadening their participation throughout. And it's very easy to keep organized since the parameters of what sports are is easy to define...unless some anal soul needs to over-analyze even that, which would be ridiculous.

Cheers,

Korbel

Why not go all the way and have a separate sports board (msrb)? We may see participation by well-known players and commentators who wouldn't want to be seen on an escort board.
