So what's legal and what's illegal?

So I know that there have been some changes to Canadian laws regarding prostitution in Canada. As with most laws, it seems only those with law degrees have a hope of understanding them. My understanding is that SP are allowed to advertise themselves but not explicitly equate money with sexual services. Purchasing sexual services from a SP is illegal whenever the SP receives financial compensation for those same services. Am I right so far?

So if an individual was to contact a SP and arrange a meeting in a safe, agreed upon location for the purpose of a "massage" no law has yet been broken as no financial exchange for sex has taken part. Not a discussion about such an exchange. Once at the SP's location, $XXX was given for the massage, still nothing illegal has occured. Correct? If during the massage the SP is told she's attractive and the client would love to see her without her clothes, still nothing illegal has happened because there has been no discussion regarding the paying of $$$ and the removal of her clothes. If the client mentions some sexual things they enjoy there is still no discussion of $$$ then it's just sexual acts between consenting adults. Am I correct?

At the end of it all, no discussion was ever made about $$$ and sex. The only time $$$ was involved was for a massage. A legal transaction. Anything else was just between adults. Now we all know that what I'm talking about is splitting hairs. If I pay $350 for a massage and then happen to mention I'd love a bbbj it's obviously not accidental. The question I have is, is it legal? Stretching it I know but is it still within the bounds of the law?

You are asking all the wrong questions. The only question that matters is, "what does LE actually give a shit about and has a budget to enforce and actually enforces?" The rest of it is a meaningless academic discussion, which is better reserved for a law review paper. LE only goes after heavy duty traffickers from overseas, those using underage sex workers and some street level activity. If you are not involved in those things you don't need to worry.

There are also numerous threads on this topic and there was not any need to start a new one. You can start your research by looking in Reverdy's thread on C36.

It's a good question. We are all here ANONYMOUSLY for a reason. Some here feel the odds of being sought for breaking any such laws are so much in their favor that they dismiss any chance it would happen. No matter how unlikely it's a false security. To dismiss concerns completely is a pretense to invulnerability. For one thing you never know who is involved in the areas the police may be targeting. There are a lot of angles that could change the odds no matter how slight. The smart thing to do is to know as much as possible and take the less risky paths using the least implicating methods no matter how small the odds are of being caught up in a legal episode.

Check out the C36 thread thoroughly, but also look for other independent authorities for answers on specific questions.

Generally speaking, To set things up I use a hotel phone and a made up name. I read reviews before calling an agency, but unless I have spoken to that person before I do not mention any sexual actions. I use outcall (her coming to you) at a private room in a hotel or AirBNB, never a motel. Money is left openly among other possessions so it does not look like it's sitting alone as an offer. ID is always hidden. I never mention $ and most of the time the escort does not either. Sometimes I forget to leave it out and still the lady does not ask about it. After all this time I've probably had less than five ladies ever mention money before she starts the intimacy. Avoid squabbling over whenever possible. It's almost guaranteed such issues will be handled "in house" so that no outsiders are involved. But avoid having an issue if possible. You never know how someone might react and widen a problem.

Be smart. There's no such thing as invulnerability.
