SP Friendly List

I've been looking to find a good SP friendly hotel downtown area for my upcoming trip(I got a couple good responses as well). I've explored all the old post and I notice the information scattered and mixed from priceline, to best service, to sp friendly all mixed together. As a newbie, and I find many others are doing same asking what hotels are SP friendly etc etc....maybe a good sticky or the like with a list might solve this problem. From my research, I'm gathering the following but I just can't tell from dated information and jumbled reviews.

1) SP friendly hotels: SP can come to your room with no issue and no key card required after hours and the SP does not get bothered or you have to meet them

2)SP friendly hotels: Who meet the above criteria for all floors excet the Club Level access that will require someone to meet the SP and let her in or arrange to meet at a different floor in the hotel

3) SP friendly hotels: That meet criteria #1 above and are located in the downtown area

4) SP friendly hotels: That are more for short term stays less than 4 hours

5) Hotels that are SP Friendly but require a key card after a certain time

6) HOtels that are SP friendly but will require the front desk/security to call the hotel guest to confirm the SP is okay to come up to the room

7) Hotels that are NOT SP friendly: Either SP will get asked too many questions or require guest to come down to meet

8) Hotels that are NOT Sp friendly: Completely too much hassle and not worth the time and energy


Hopefully someone can fill in the gaps and such and maybe the questions will be eliminated for newbies and it will be more reader friendly. Thanks for all the help.

Hmm...

I guess we don't want to make the search easier for anybody...that's fine...we'll just keep it the way it is and make for digging through the useless nonsense instead of making it easier.

I've read the threads completely, they're a bit scattered and not very complete. In addition, they are a bit dated and some over 2-4 years old, which could use some updating.

The only up-to-date thread is the "hotel bidding" one which is thorough and decided to throw in some of the information here or there on sp friendly specifics.

But good of you three to help and provide some good insight with a simple reply bulleting one of the numbers.

Fact is, I've typed in Holiday Inn Select, Hyatt, HDLM, etc...if you're a newbie, it still doesn't clarify exactly and I think newbies would like to know. Plus, updating a recent list non-newbies would like a quick reference as well.

I'm sure some fellas out there willling to contribute to this that understand the difficult process of finding what's right for you during your trip.


Hopefully some good responses with constructive quality information will be forthcoming.

Here is my list...

I am not sure if there is a SP unfriendly one in Montreal, but some places can have issues. Here is my list for what it's worth

No issue whatsoever:
Hotel de la Montagne
The Omni Mont-Royal Hotel
Le Saint Sulpice
Days Hotel & Conference Centre
Hyatt Regency Montreal
Quality Inn Downtown

Friendly but have minor "environmental" problems:
Auberge du Vieux-Port -- small boutique hotel so SPs would be conspicous
Chateau Versailles Hotel -- same as above
Holiday Inn Express -- busy lobby. Family/back packer orientation.
Clarion Hotel Suites Downtown -- The main business of this hotel is booking bus groups.

Friendly but have access restrictions:
Loews Hotel Vogue
Delta Montreal : only for some upgraded rooms.
Novotel Montreal Centre
Best Western Europa Downtown

after reading threads about hotels for the last 45 minutes, i too found the info still mediocre at best, scattered and hard to draw conclusions.

hard2cums post in this thread is the most direct with regards to advice i have found. but it is two years old. as an SP coming to visit montreal, and operate an incall at a hotel for a few days, this information is very valuable. both for my discretion and my clients. does anyone else have a concise list such as hard2cums to contribute? this thread could then be referenced again as no doubt, people ask these questions all the time. the issue still remains that the information is scattered. anyone care to help remedy this?

I think that when it comes to Montreal, the list should instead be about hotels that are not friendly to sps. From my experience most of them are quite friendly to sps (after all, Mtl is possibly the most sexually liberated city in North America), but some do present a bit of a hassle due to various 'security' reason, such as needing a room key in order to access the elevators. I'd list these hotels among the less friendly ones (for incall):

Loews Vogue
Le Crystal
Embassy Suites
W
Novotel
Best Western Europa
Opus

I'm certain some of the members can add some hotels to the list or offer their input.

Candlewood Suites and Holiday Inn Express (on rene levesque and right next to each other) are very SP Friendly, and ofton are found on hotwire.com at very affordable rates, especially for a suite with nice sized balconys.

Excellent thread. Those are expensive hotels. A cheaper option would be great too Let's say hotels in the 60-90 range.

any input on the Maritime Plaza

Maya, i've stayed at the Maritime Plaza in the past. It's sp friendly if i'm a john receiving there, but the lobby isn't big/discreet enough to do incall there (in my opinion). The rooms are nice & the hotel's location is acceptable.

As for the Cantlie, i've never stayed there since i consider it a dump. Others might share a different opinion.

Add the Delta Centreville to the SP friendly list. The Delta Centreville has a large lobby and more traffic so SP's can blend in without being noticeable.

I am really not sure why finding an SP-friendly hotel is a problem at all. I have been at many hotels randomly over the years and have never had any problem. During my first trip to Montreal staying at a small hotel the SP even came with me to the front desk where she requested another room for me because the air-conditioner wasn't working as well as it should. I have stayed at a few places which were basically small renovated chic mansions where the desk attendant would know everyone staying there and there was no problem with having a lady visitor even when one came in with skin-tight leopard slacks and high heels to my door visible from the desk right down the hall. Uh huh, not too obvious...lol.

Any larger hotel with a large number of clients where client traffic is frequent and the attendants can't possibly know everyone staying there should be safe unless an elevator key or some other entry device is needed. In that case I just meet the lady with my own key. "Oh, she's just helping me with some wine quality control tests"...lol.

The Maritime Plaza is good. I stayed there in October and saw two ladies there. It's fairly large, busy, and access is pretty open.

Note that you had the W listed as less friendly for incall. Just wondering if they use a card access system that also makes it more awkward for outcall?

For the Centre Sheraton, the answer is no.
