Any MERB members heading to South Dakota for the rally?

I drove thru South Dakota about twenty years ago. Beautiful state. WEST of Chicago the USA is almost like a different world: lots of open spaces. I remember lots of rolling hills with deer grazing alongside the highway...it looked like a postcard. Never been to Sturgis but I would love to see the hot biker babes! There is a similar event much closer to home in Laconia, New Hampshire. Never been there either but I did go to Hampton Beach. There was a biker bar there called Wally´s which was like stepping into a time warp (not sure if it still exists). There were a couple of similar bars in nearby Salisbury Beach, MA.

I hear attendance is down for the last 5 years, less people each year.

On a side note I just remembered after driving thru S. Dakota I spent the night in Casper, Wyoming. If you wanted to get laid for free in the 1990s Casper was the place to be! Spent the night with a girl I picked up in a country bar. Damn she had one of the biggest natural racks I had ever seen! She explained that the town was full of abandoned single moms since many of the bfs had left due to economic recession. Always wanted to go back there to see if it's still like that LOL.

I think that’s mostly because 4 years ago was the 75th anniversary so it had a ridiculous amount of people. That was the first year I went. There are less people, but I think it’s mostly because people are trying to compare it to that.

Big boy toys are all down, Harley sales are down 30%. Boats and snowmobile sales are dismal. Vegas is not attracting the people it use to attract. There is a recession looming and people are scared. The used market for boy toys are loaded with low priced used goods.
