Taking an sp's temperature

I was thinking of getting one of those digital thermometers so if I get an outcall, I could take the girls temperature upon arrival.
If she has no fever, chances she are she doesn't have the virus unless she had recently caught it but symptoms have not started yet.
But it would still reduce the risk I guess?
So I'm wondering if that would be an effective measure of protecting against the virus. Any thoughts?

Not a bad idea. Walking into almost any building here in NY people are getting their temperature checked. Would it reduce the risk? That depends. If a girl does have a temperature you can refuse her, so yes, I guess it would reduce the risk. As far as an effective measurement to protect you from Covid-19, probably not. Only real way to avoid this nasty virus is to socially distance and when you can't by wearing a mask. Having a temperature is only one of the many different symptoms a person can have so the only way to really be safe is to not engage in the hobby for now.

For taking forehead temperature.
The measurement of the forehead temperature can be carried out by an infrared thermometer (without contact) it offers the advantage of the absence of contact, the speed and the ease of reading, but its sensitivity and its specificity are less than that of other methods (oral, rectal), the measurement may be influenced by environmental or physiological elements (air flow, hair, sweat).

If you stress so much, I wouldn't meet for now, it's my advice.

The problem with not engaging in the hobby for now is that we don't know how long for now is going to last.
Until they find a vaccine? That could take years. I don't know if I can hold out that long lol :)

Hopefully rapid saliva coronavirus tests will become more common soon. That could be a real game changer.

Well, at least we try to do our part in keeping the community safe. Even if testing isn't perfect and (temperature check isn't either), we do our best with what we have. If you need more than that to feel safe, don't hobby.

Just pointing out a mistake. Never said you didn’t do the best you can, never said I needed more than that to hobby, and thank you, but I’ll decide when or when not to hobby. FDA feels that thermometers are accurate.

Thank you for the link. My comment wasn't directed to you specifically, I apologize if I looked like it was. It was meant in a more general sense.

Rose,
How long does it take for you and your colleagues to get your test results back on average?

Is it free testing?
