The condom broke!!! Help!!

Hello,

I am reading the MERB forums since a few months and yesterday was only the second time of my life I dealed with an SP...but a nightmare is now haunting me...

...It's a girl from an established agency (incall), at first all was fine but we tried to swith position ( her laying on the stomach, ass up... ) when I tried to penetrate her the condom broke... ( all happened so fast )... we both realised it right when it happened but since I was "on my way" for her pussy a bit too late!... I quickly pulled out but the tip of my penis already had entered. ( There was no complete penetration... but too much in my opinion )

So I got out and started to panic a bit as you can imagine!! Wiped myself with towels and she also headed to the washroom... Her and I then both asked ourselves tons of questions about safety and health, and she ensured me she was safe and was passing complete tests every 3 months... She seemed also concerned about if I was safe.

In my case I was with same girl for 5 years - so.

I called the "CLSC"... but they answered me no tests before 6 months...

Has anyone ever experienced something like it... Im freaking out now and is only thinking of AIDS and shit like that...


Also the SP told me this happens once in while ( condom breaks )...

First thing to do is to relax....

Look at the odds.

1) she has to be sick in the first place for you to get infected.

2) the chance of you being infected even if she is sick is certainly dramatically lowered due to the fact that you barely entered.

Look at it rationally and understand that you have to be phenomenally unlucky to actually get anything. By all means get tested if that is what you feel you need but don't lose any sleep over it.

It happens to my once while i was doing anal on a SP. Just like you I realised it right away and stop the action. I got really anxious on this and I had to wait 3 months for a test.

I contacted an aids info hotline and told my story. The guy there explain that even if the girl had someting, it requires a lot of fluid to carry the virus inside the penis. Since it stoped quickly and that no blood was involved the risk was very low even if the girl was infected by something. It turned out that I was clean and that I overreact a little on this.

The bottom line is: Relax, take care and get tested just to make sure but don't ruin your life on this.

As it's been said before .. relax.

Cslc takes quite a long time . however there are options for testing in montreal.

For a 24 hour test result http://www.cdllabs.com/ located in Cote des Nieges. you'll need a doctors referal letter to get HIV tested here. This is only a lab so a doctor's referral is needed incase of unfavoralble results.

Next is a Gov't subsidised clinic in Downtown montreal http://cliniquelactuel.com/. This clinic only takes appointments on fridays, and has a doctor on site, you'll get your results before you leave. They only service sex trade workers, this is why the service exsists. I wouldn't believe them to refuse someone, I send them my preformers all the time. give them a call and explain the situation ... clinic L'Actuel cost is about 80$ while the CDL is $160

In the future, if you are presented with a similar situation (broken condom) pull out right away and go to the wash room and spend a good 5 minutes washing with soap and water (the SP should do the same).

This alone can kill bacteria in about 50% of the cases (the other 50% end up at the clinic to gert a prescription for pennicillin).

Remember, bacteria infections are far more common than the HIV virus.

My understanding is, that that depends upon the strain of HIV and that 3-6 months covers all the bases. It is a strange mutating disease, which, as you may know, even has the case of some Ugandan prostitutes immune despite repeated exposures.

Happened to me

It happened to me. And to make it worse, when I pulled out I was coated with blood. The SP was having her period, and she was hiding it by shoving a sponge up there. It'd become dislodged while we were doing the deed, and probably had something to do with the breakage.

Here is my advice to you, based on a lot of info gathered from a lot of very dependable sources:

Don't sweat it. The odds of becoming infected in this manner are beyond tiny. I was told, dependably, that the odds are roughly 3 in 10,000 of becoming infected from a single episode of unprotected sex with an infected person...and you were protected most of the time before the condom broke.

And that 3 in 10,000 figure is if the woman is infected....which she most likely was not. So HIV is almost certainly not an issue.

It'd be good to get tested just to make 1,000 percent sure. You can virtually certainly rule out HIV infection with a negative Elisa test at six weeks. Thirteen weeks is the gold standard. If you test negative at 13 weeks, you are fine.

You can buy tests online at www.ehivtest.com if you don't want to go to a clinic or see a doctor. These tests are FHA-approved in the U.S., so there is nothing sketchy about them. You supply a fingerprick's worth of blood and mail it back, and you collect results by phone in a few days.

You probably don't even need to take the test, but if it makes you feel better, that's how to go about it.

Oh, and also, women are far, far, FAR more likely to contract HIV from a male than the other way around. The virus cannot penetrate intact skin...it would have to go through your urethra, unless you had a cut on your penis. Women are more at risk because the virus can enter through the vaginal wall.

You're fine. Oh, and tests taken less than six weeks out are worthless, because it takes the body at least six weeks to develop antibodies to HIV, which is what the test actually detects.

Thanks, Garito. There is so much disinformation out there about HIV. When that happened to me, I thought it was a given that I would be infected if she were. She acted as if she was using drugs (I should have refused her, but, well, you know), which made me concerned she could be a needle-sharer and at high risk.

I am not talking out my ass here; all the info is good, honest. I would not just post any old bullshit about a subject so serious.

Oh, I should also recommend that the original poster get a full STD test panel. While it is virtually impossible for him to have contracted HIV, it's not at all out of the question that he latched onto something else if the SP has HPV, gonorrhea, syphilis or whatever. Lots of other STDs are easy to transmit. HIV is very, very hard to "catch," particularly for a guy having sex with a woman.

The chances of contracting one of these other STI is higher than the HIV virus. However the chances are still relatively small so do not get too panicked but go see a doctor or better yet go to a clinic that specializes in sexually transmitter infections.

This whole topic brings up the dilemma. IF, for some reason, you DID contract something...and you're in a relationship. The worry that goes through your mind can be excrutiating. You would likely give it to your partner sooner than the incubation period for testing has gone by. By the time you test positive for it, it could be too late. If it's the dreaded HIV, you've thusly given your partner a death sentence. Friends and relatives would look upon you as a murderer and falounderer (whatever that is). You then have to live your remaining years, possibly in the couple if there are children to be looked after. So you're tied to a relationship with a damming curse over your head and lots of guilt. Your inlaws would probably beat the piss out of you to boot. You want to hide or run away, but that could be even worse, leaving all the responsibilities up to your partner. In short, it could be an UGLY situation.
No one wants to put words to such a possibility, but if you're the one waiting to get tested, these thoughts can pass through your mind. Ugh, ugh, and more ugh.!
I propose no answer here, just to be realisitic and be aware of the remote chances of it happening and remember that "stress" never solved anything, it only makes you sick.

Its funny that all anybody ever thinks about is AIDS and Hep C. Those are very hard to get unless you have mixing of blood (rough raw anal sex, sharing of needles).

I've only had two experiences with SP's ever. My first time years ago I was really drunk and was rubbing my dick after I pulled it out of her. Then while I was switching condoms I was rubbing my bare dick with the hand that was contaminated with her fluids.

The next morning I thought about it and I had major anxiety for months after.

Was I worried about HIV, hepatitis, ect? No. I was worried about good old herpes. Everybody here is like hey don't worry chances are nil that you will get aids and die. Sure, true but getting herpes is quite easy from a simple contact like that, especially if the SP is "shedding" the virus which can occur when she is asymptomatic. You can contract herpes and pass it to your partner before you even get symptoms, although often you will get flu like symptoms if you've never been exposed to even the common normal type of herpes (HSV-1). However, often you can catch the more serious genital herpes (HSV-2) and not develop the flu like symptoms, but then have a serious hardcore outbreak like months or years later.

No imagine this horror. Every girl you meet for the rest of your life you have to either tell here outright you have herpes, or simply betray her and run the risk of infecting her which is very likely if it develops into a long term relationship.

Just to keep in mind guys....how many of you avoid touching an SP's juices on any of your skin surfaces, not just your dick. I know many guys like to go for full blown DATY (which I think is nuts).

Dude I hope that you are not actually waiting 6 months like the CLSC lady
actually told you. TAKE THIS FROM AN EXPERT, and by that I am supposed to
deal with this in real life.

When the (US) govt. determined the 6 month rule it was to accommodate everyone (including people with certain cancers and diseases that are out there that would make them test acidentally negative) to nearly a statistical 100% . BUT THAT WAS IN THE LATE 80's EARLY 90's .

In 2008, 3 months (99.7% - 99.9 %+) cohort of people who are hiv+ will be positive by 3 months post exposure, I am confident the numbers are even higher than that. Furthuremore, if you are concerned about the quality of the testing they do
it 99.8-99.9% ish percent correct, so if you test out at 3 months, you can be dead sure that you are OK>

Absolutely. And most seroconversions occur within six weeks, so a six-week test is virtually golden.

test is (this is and anecdotal guess) 80-90% but IT MUST BE BACKED UP BY A 3 month test......
or until the CDC/NIH in the USA decides otherwise.

Agree with Ocean. Sorry if I left the wrong impression. You MUST get a three-month test. However, if you are clear in a six-week test in what is essentially a very low-risk situation (broken condom during vaginal intercourse with a woman of unknown status), a six-week test is an excellent indicator that a three-month test will clear you.

As a rule, the vast majority of people who seroconvert (develop antibodies to HIV, which is what the test looks for) after six weeks are those with serious health issues, such as autoimmune diseases, or those receiving chemotherapy.

in a low risk situation a 6 week neg must be backed up
by a 12 week CONFIRMATORY NEG.

BUT, a lower risk scenario like (breakage of the condom x 6 week neg) will give people a very high degree of reassuarance not to panic because the multiplication of the low risk times the 6 week negative should give you
a very positive outlook until you can get the 12 week negatve stamped
and confirmed.

BTW I would not recommend these home access kits. If you are really concerned about privacy and dont want any record, the clsc has anonymous testing, as does clinique alternative but I think many would be comfortable with their doctor.
