It's all bullshit. The whole conversation revolving around the Epstein files is bullshit, and everyone in the media on both sides talking about the issue is full of shit. No one is interested in the crime except by proxy. Nobody is interested in guilt, they're only concerned about assigning blame, as if somehow interfering with a minor is dependent on one's political affiliation, or as if the act of doing so is a political act. Even here it's being discussed as if somebody on the left or right is more correct than the others. I guarantee that the men abusing the girls aren't stopping to ask if the girls are democrats or republicans first. Nothing about the Epstein files that I've seen anywhere suggests that anything that happened on Epstein's island or wherever had anything to do with politics, government policy or having an influence on acts in office. At best one might suppose that somewhere in some dark corner somewhere someone was paid off for a political favour with a 15 year old in the closet but no one is even suggesting that so far. So, fitness to hold office? Sure, maybe, but nothing has surfaced to really make that relevant so far. Nothing about any of this suggests that any part of the Epstein fiasco has anything to do with politics. Critical thinkers don't exactly abound in political discussions these days though. Scandal sells "papers" (for lack of a better word, eyes on ads is probably better) and the big sexual deviants associated with Epstein at all (Trump and Clinton, leaving out Randy Andy as not being American) are neither seriously accused of having done anything specific or having done anything while they were in office to the best of my imperfect knowledge. Presumably we'll find out more in the coming days and weeks if the info isn't blocked from surfacing but to date there's been a whole lot of talk based on a whole big load of "not much" information matched up with an enormous shitload of speculation.

So, does that excuse any of what happened under Epstein's watch? Fuck no. They're all pieces of shit if they were involved with the girls, should be prosecuted to the fullest extent etc etc.. Let's not, however, pretend that this is anything other than trying to paint the other side in the worst way possible in advance of the midterms. This is absolutely not about anything other winning the public opinion war and totally ignores both the crime and the victims. The crime in all of this is that everyone from discredited wacko hacks like Michael Tracey right up to network national news is buying into it for the hype and is perfectly happy to wring everyone even peripherally associated with the events out to dry if it scores a sound byte. It's a pretty disgusting indictment of both the media and the politicians in the current political forum.
