Two things I hope most people will agree with (mods take this down if too controversial):
1. I feel nothing but contempt for all political assassins and would-be assassins in democratic countries (*), because they arrogantly believe they deserve the power of gods to reshape the world according to their will and to extinguish human lives in the process ("... by any means necessary"). Don't forget the would-be assassin in this case also committed at least one murder: one ordinary non-famous person is dead, two others are in the hospital in critical condition, for no reason except they exercised their right to participate in the political process by attending a rally.
2. On a different note, Italian soccer journalist Marco Violi, who lives in Italy and writes about Italian soccer games (
https://www.romagiallorossa.it/), had nothing to do with it. Why mention this? Because some clown created an imaginary identity for Marco Violi as "American antifa activist Mark Violets" and claimed this imaginary person was the perpetrator, using actual pictures of the Italian soccer journalist and labeling the pictures "antifa activist Mark Violets, the shooter in the Trump assassination attempt". The internet, an endless source of .... uh, something.
(* doesn't necessarily apply to dictatorships, depending on how brutal and oppressive they are, but that's a different topic for a different day)
