The issue of underaged sex trade workers was raised previously this week but the topic was lost in the shuffle of other issues in the thread in question.

Regardless this is a topic that touches all elements of the industry across the full spectrum.

What are the responsibilities of all concerned parties - clubs, agencies, parlours,owners,industry workers, service users and anyone I may have omitted?

Fake ID

Myself if you are a hobbyiest and you are the least bit suspicious
as to wether or not she is of legal age, if you have any sense of right or wrong you will ask her for ID. If she does not have id such as driver's licence you should ask her to leave.

Fake ID is fairly easy to get so if you suspect that someone is under age ask a few questions such as ..."When did you start grade one?".

People have a hard time counting backwards and doing the math under pressure so their answer could show that their ID is off by a few years.Old bouncer trick.

I have a question for Doc. Please don't take this the wrong way but are you saying you asked an escort you had just met for an ID and she actually showed it to you?! I can't imagine why, when escorts seem so concerned with concealing their true identities as is evident in their taking fake names and blurring there faces on website photos, that an escort who upon first meeting a client would show ANY ID, let alone her REAL ID! What was she thinking?? For all an escort knows upon first meeting a client he is an axe wielding stalker!

Its a tough call, I certainly wouldn't expect any escort I had just met...since thats the time I would be worrying about her age, not the third time we had met...to give me an ID! I guess if I was that worried about it I would just call it off if she refused to show me a valid ID. In the eyes of the law it only matters that you engaged in sexual intercourse with a minor. On this I am fairly certain. I have heard that Canada is extremely tough on those caught under these "circumstances" with little or no leniency for being lied too as to age. Ultimate responsibility comes down to you. What are the chances a judge is going to "feel bad" for a 40 year old man who got caught with a 16 year old prostitute? Not good.

My take on this subject is simple: if she looks, talks and acts like a teenager, I do not bother checking by asking questions, I refrain from engaging in any sexual intercourse whatsoever. This has only happened to me once at an incall and hopefully never again. Here is my take on this:

First, I do not get aroused by a very young looking SP. I prefer a shapely, mature woman who is confident in bed.

Second, sex for me is very much mental, not just physical. Again, I need her to be somewhat stimulating and this often comes with experience.

Finally, and most importantly, anything underaged grosses me out. Even surfing my favorite porn sites on the net, I hate seeing the odd pop-up images of teenagers having sex. These sites should be banned and the guys making money behind them should face stiff jail sentences.

In Quebec,high school runs to grade eleven unlike other provinces/states where it runs to grade 12 or 13.Here you have CEGEP(junior college).Typical Quebec grad is 16/17 while those from Ontario and the northern states are in the range you mention.Also the drinking age in Quebec is 18 while in some of the northern states it is 21.The key as evidenced by your post is to have as much knowledge and guile as possible.

Legislation has been tabled in the House of Commons that will increase the age at which a Canadian can legally have sex to 16 from 14. The law was last revised in 1890, when the age of consent was raised from 12.

Why this is done?

The police needed a legislation vehicle to target repeat offenders who were getting off the hook because of the max 14 years old limit. The legislation is more complex than that. It also addresses "authority figures" and wide gaps in age difference.

Please distinguish between the age limits for consensual sex and the related definitions and "for hire" sex which still carries the 18 year old age limit.

There is exceptions, one of which:
"c) is not in a position of trust or authority towards the complainant, is not a person with whom the complainant is in a relationship of dependency and is not in a relationship with the complainant that is exploitative of the complainant."

Money creates a relationship where the person paying has authority, and prostitution is considered exploitative.

Therefore prostitutes must be 18 or the client is breaking the law.

If someone asked me that question, I wouldn't even know the answer. The only answer that I know of in terms of school is what year I graduated high school (because of my grad ring), what year I entered high school (subtracting 5 years from my high school graduation) and what year I graduated CEGEP (by adding 2 years to my high school graduation date.

I had to ask for i.d once and the girl looked embarrassed when i did. She said "why do people ask me this? Do i look this young?" Yes!! She was 19 at the time.

I think asking the SP for ID is akin to her asking a client for ID. I wouldn't feel comfortable showing my ID to someone I didn't know. I'm sure a SP who was the age of majority would have the same issues showing her ID to a client.

I haven't been asked for ID in awhile but if a SP asked me for ID, I would say, "I'll show you mine if you show me yours"

Seriously, I think that if I were asked for ID from an SP, I would ask the SP for ID as well. I think that there is little chance of this happening to me since I don't look under 18.

I believe I prefer a petite SP 18-23 range. I say this but I have found that the 18 and 19 debutantes may not have the required skill to maximize my hobby experience. As far as young SP's go, it is illegal to have sex with someone under 18. For me, I have had to pass the "red face" test when meeting a young SP in the lounge or when picking one up at a bar and registering her at the front desk.
