What form of public transportation is best with gas price so so high ?

Oh, this is what I come home to!!

I leave for a weekend and come back to find all hell has broken loose and no one knows how to get around!

Until this strike ends, me and my trusty bike seat are going to become very close pals (hope it rubs me the right way!)

It's inconvenient, for sure, but not as bad as a complete shutdown: 6-9 am - 4:30?-6:30 pm - 11:00pm-1:00 am...

I guess all thoughts of bringing my bicycle on the metro now go out the window ??

I mean I am sure that the trains will now be packed !!

What happened to promises at elections ?

Can anybody explain this to me ?

Evertime at election times, politicians paint a rosy picture, with tons of new ideas about how to solve the energy crisis to make my life better.

Yet, time and again, the same problem persists.

What happened to all the campaign promises at election time and still nothing gets done.

Still the same high price!!!

Can anyone tell me what it was like driving into and around Montreal today ??

So..I went to work here in the US, and my Montreal based friends at work told me to cancel my trip..They said that I will be totally fucked trying to drive into the city from Laval.

I am coming Saturday , so I am sure Saturday and Sunday might be OK to drive into the city ?? I am staying Monday and Tuesday, leaving Wednesday morning. Here is where it gets sticky..

According to my MTL based friends at work, everyone will be forced to drive into the city to go to work during the week, so it will be downtown Manhattan all over again..UGH

They also told me good luck trying to find parking, both on the street and in lots !!

Any locals that can help answer would be appreciated..

Too bad you can't change your plans and rent a hotel downtown instead of all the way in Laval.
My guess is also that if you are looking for an outcall request to Laval, it may take a little longer as well for your date to arrive.
Also, with Memorial Day weekend, I am sure there will be traffic this weekend in the downtown area as well, more than usual.
