I've been doing this for 2 years now, met quite a few ladies and I'm surprised about how I still don't get it right most of the time when I try to imagine someone based on their photos.
Even for my clients. They often send me a selfie with their ID for screening, and in person they are often so different! I am usually pleasantly surprised. Of course, we live in 3D and we have an alive energy that can't be grasped in photos. We could have 300 photos, we will still be different in person!

I remember a guy on this board saying that our photos should only represent reality and show what is true! But every photo of me is true, it's just that every angle shows something different of me, and it's also true that I look different in every angle. That's what a camera does, you can look taller or shorter in two photos taken 3 seconds apart, both would be true, I exist in all these angles, but a camera doesn't grasp reality, it's only a 2D plan. A video could be the best way to see our colors and personality, but our body can be as deformed as in photos.

Basically, a photo can never fully capture reality exactly as it is; there's always an element, or a few, that will be misrepresented.

I'd like a smile or some indication of friendliness. Not saying this about you Giselle, just in general. So many look miserable.

Old fashioned professional photos were "altered". They would retouch them otherwise and they used professional lighting, with filters on the cameras. It's not a bait and switch to have flattering photos.
What I meant was that the vintage photos were taken with filters and editing tools like Photoshop didn't exist back then. I'm referring to the classic Kodak pictures from the past.

It’s interesting that photo retouching is mentioned… Assuming the aesthetic of the subject and framing of the photo are pleasing, I look for the small skin freckles that don’t get erased with filters. This helps me understand if there’s been an attempt to cover tattoos. Any high res where I can see peach fuzz are fantastic because that level of detail is hard to photoshop.

For the portfolio, I don’t mind a few professional photos are good to help show the commitment of the girl to the business (and all that it entails). I also like a few sexy selfies or other informal poses with a good amount of lighting. The hotel bathroom mirror is perfect to show her real figure.

To the girls, I’d recommend to not overthink it and post the pictures you like because it’s the combination that shows your personality.

It could also be how are smile contorts our face... I can take 100 photos, I am more likely to post, or share photos that don't have my full smile,
1, Even though others think it is cute, what I see when I smile are squinty eyes, pudgy cheeks, and thinner lips from how the face contorts.
2, When we apply makeup, or even check ourselves out on a regular day, often it is our resting face we base it on, assuming we won't have big smiles all day long, again that contortion can distort the look and placement of camouflage lines made with makeup. (For those who do contouring and such, I'm just not skilled in it.)
3, trying to create a come hither look, not a psyco I might be crazy girl look lol... (though that just might attract some of you more, ;) crazy is it's own kind of fun. :p )
4, The much advertised ideal image of beauty, can often be portrayed by famous socialites who use fillers and botox to show that emotionless faces are attractive faces.

I prefer the natural, everyday look. A teasing demeanor makes the picture even more attractive!

Touched up, carefully orchestrated or pornographic pics turn me off. I want to see in the picture what I expect to see in person.

I'd like to see photos with smiles too.

Maybe because it opens the door saying you can be reached and open for connecting (naughty look too:p).
Whereas a more serious face seems to create a kind of wall.

I agree with Luna on that strangely people tell me that I am more attractive in person.
Back to my point, when seeing someone smiling vs someone trying to emanate a certain image, I think that the person smiling will be more attractive.
Or if you have a kink and the photo reflects that then it's more of specific clientele target.

I use photos as a rough estimate. Not just due to filters and such, even using a different lens can really change a person's appearance.
The 350MM and 24MM pics look like different people.

I am so not sure what I am sapposed to see different, but to me, the first 6 look the same, and only see eyes wider opened in the 35_mm and more closed in the 24_mm with a different angle. (I don't filter or edit anything in my photos, so there is likely a whole world I am missing when looking at this, that I just don't see or understand.)

The longer the focal lens, the flatter is the head. When the focal lens is wide/short it is like more 3D

You'll notice that with the first 4 or 5 images, you can see her temples/side of her face. Once it gets to 35mm and 24mm, it starts to create a bit of a fisheye lens effect and stretches out her face. Everything in the center gets larger while things around the edge get smaller. IDK if I used the best example, so here's another one showing ideal focal length (100mm) vs 16mm.

I think a mix of candid and professional pics is helpful and the smile is a big plus. I get the sultry slinky dress look or the "I want to tear your clothes off" lingerie shots are important but there's something to just seeing a woman laughing or just being chill and happy in semi-regular clothes that exudes a confidence I find super attractive. Sometimes full sexy look comes off cold and unapproachable.

I think your pictures helped describe exactly what you are saying. And I couldn't help laugh with how funny a characature the second looks from the first.
