I never considered Charlie Brown Christmas a movie, but rather a one hour TV special. However I have the entire soundtrack on CD. The soundtrack is great. It's by American jazz composer Vince Guaraldi. The album was voted into the Grammy Hall of Fame and was added to the Library of Congress's National Recording Registry list of "culturally, historically, or aesthetically important" sound recordings. The music is what makes this a classic.

Oh another oldy but a such a goody is Trading Places with Dan Akroyd & Eddie Murphy.

I don't think it's considered a Christmas movie, but it did take place during Christmas & Dan Akroyd did get dressed up as Santa.

On a positive note, it showed how kind SP's can be :p

when he first meets the gorgeous store clerk and is so flustered, when the cat gets electrocuted, when the sewer blows up, fireworks and singing the Star Spangled Banner... just a classic.

i just remembered one of my all-time favorites that i forgot to list: The Bishop's Wife. I'm referring to the original version with Cary Grant, Loretta Young & David Niven. An absolutely great movie!

For anyone that hasn't seen the original, it's on Turner Classic Movies tomorrow ( Christmas Eve ) @ 8 PM

Best Regards

Thanks Smuler. Although i've seen it half a dozen times in the past, i'll PVR it and possibly watch it again Xmas day. By the way, i don't believe i've seen the newer version (with Denzel Washington and i think Whitney Houston) yet. If you've seen it, how does it rate?

By the way, lately AMC has been showing 'Miracle on 34th Street' with Richard Attenborough in the Kris Kringle role. I remember seeing when it first came out. I found it so-so, still preferring the orginal one (colorized version or not). I also enjoyed the 70's version with Sebastien Cabot and David Hartman. However, i watched the newest version again the other day and it's currently playing on AMC and i must admit that i've grown to enjoy it very much. The actress portraying the young girl is a heck of an actress and Attenborough plays the Kringle part brilliantly. I also have enjoyed Dylan McDermott's work over the years and he's once again very good in this movie. I love it!!!
