What kind and how much do you pay for your alarm system

You get what you pay for. If your system is wired already you have a good system. If you need to upgrade then you only need to change the equipment and use the existing wires. If you go wireless like with Alarm Farce or Stink protection, you are getting a cookie cutter system where they rent it to you and they will be making the profit on you with the recurring revenue they charge you. Insurance companies will not accept a wireless system for a commercial premises. The reason is that they are not as reliable as wired systems.

Look behind you.
I live in a relatively safe neighborhood, I had an alarm system that was wireless but cancelled it after a couple of years, what is still active though is all the contact points and an outside alarm ( HORN ).
My son has large signs on the garage door and windows written in French " THERE IS NOTHING INSIDE HERE WORTH DYING FOR ".

Hi there folks, I just wanted to know what kind (wired or wireless) home alarm system do you have , what company do you recommend, and how much do you pay for monitoring ?

Thanks.
Hello ocean

Security System vary and the needs of everyone is not the same ,two things I have change over the years glass break detectors.

The other one my alarm is no longer land line connected but cell phone connected and I can control it at distance with my app

Good luck

I have done some research into this, and I notice that most local companies and all of the Joel Matlin comapnies (Alarm Force and Think Protection ) , are pushing wireless systems very hard. I mention to them I want a wired system or a mixed wired/wireless system, because eventually thieves will use wireless do-hikeys like they use against cars. The guy on the phone laughs, but I go hard for wired or mixed systems, with cellular backup .

Wired is the way to go, but the alarm companies no longer send 2 guys to do 3-4 days at one place because no one will pay for it. When I had my house built. I had wiring put in. Wired is the way to go.

I have one hand-gun (legal) and three hunting rifles (also legal). No monthly fees!

Seriously though if I was not home and someone broke in to steal my stuff, I am covered by insurance so no need for an alarm system.

And... no, I would not shoot someone unless they threatened my life.
