What should you (or he) do when blackmailed?

Hi guys I would like to ask for a question. I have been reading a review board in Chinese, and today this fellow was asking what he should do when blackmailed?

This is what happened. He found a girl on leolist and went to see her. After the session, he found that more than $100 cash was stolen from his wallet. He also received a phone call from him bank telling him about two suspicious transactions using his credit card. When he called back, the girl first denied, say he has no evidence. He said he can ask the bank to trace the credit card transactions, or call the police to ask them to trace the transactions. Then the girl say, it's legal for her to sell, but it's illegal for him to buy so if he call police she's ok but he's in deep shit. Then the girl sent him his Facebook contact list, obvious that she even copy that away.

So what can he do in this situation? He could have just let those $100+ cash go, but it's kind of scary when someone has all your Facebook friends contact. So far the advice is that he can switch Facebook account. I'm curious what you guys suggest him to do.

Thanks!

I agree with Patron. Eat the "loss". Cease contact with the lady. Contact FB and advise them that his account had been compromised and ask them to lock down the account for good -- ask FB to do everything to protect the Contact List and yes, stop using FB, at least for a long period of time until this matter blows over. (The crooks will soon move on to their next victims.) The lady can be arrested for theft and banking law violations, but the dude can be arrested to for paying for sex; so she's not immune from the law for helping to commit fraud and theft.

It still puzzles me that dudes don't come across Merb when they do a simple search on Google for Montreal escorts. I know it's not easy for many people to come up with a couple of hundred dollars (C$220+) to see an escort who advertises on Merb, but save up -- quality for quantity; spank the monkey in the meantime.

I stumbled upon MERB early in my career. I wonder how many land minds I avoided due to MERB? I got lucky.

I would delete FB. Men do this all the time for FB's deceitful peddling of our personal information and for all the BS political argument. Also, what more do you have to say with people that you graduated with 10-40 years ago? Get a fake FB account and fake email account for the hobby. Next, I would write a review in every review board I can think of to avoid this lady. This is the only type of retribution I would do.

Incidentally, I looked into my spam file for some reason and I found two e-mails from cyber blackmailers. They somehow had got their hands on an old password and they threatened to inform my employer of all the sites that I visit and called me a pervert. They even had an old password of mine as proof. One of the blackmailers was so reasonable I considered paying it for a second (I hate greedy blackmailers). But here is the thing: Outlook auto-deletes all spam after something like 60 - 90 days. I had missed the deadlines for all the ransoms by over 30 days to 60 days. So far, nothing has happened. I never expected anything to happen and I chuckled when I read the e-mails.

New scams and old scams with modern twists will always be around.

https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/montreal/kidnap-scam-montreal-1.5023700

It's a good idea to turn off your phone when seeing an escort and turn off Face ID (on new iPhone models) or other biometric scanners like fingerprint reader; revert back to good old fashion passcode.

But for this dude, if the crooks turn up the heart on him, he may need to hire a cybersecurity expert to help him extricate himself, especially if he's a high net worth dude. (If he can't find those experts in Canada, there are reputable firms in Singapore.)

So the extra $100 cash he had in his wallet was for extras he was hoping for, eh.

Like you hungry, Merb too has helped me avoid lots of problems and find amazing SP's and make good friends.

As Jalimon says, unless you use a bogus hobby phone, wich is probably the best option but not everybody can do that, the next best thing is make sure you don't have said phone linked to FB. Then if you are worried for your job, family or whatever make the most of your FB profile private, including friend list, pictures, posts etc

Obviously the merb over backpage and such has been told many times, like others im lucky i found merb 10 years ago and the right circonstances made it possible for me to enjoy this hobby like that.

Thanks to all for your valuable comments. Apparently he didn't do enough research and he is not as lucky as many of us who have MERB along the way. In fact, only after reading your replies did I realize that I am such a lucky guy. I stuck to MERB so I never had encountered such issues. But this incident can serve as a slap on the wrist to remind me how dangerous the world out there really is, and I should take certain precautions in the future regardless of the situation. I will transfer your comments to the other review site and hope it's gonna help him. Thanks again to all of you!

I would Eat the "loss" for now. but I would keep track of her on her ads and telephone number and do pay back in 6-9 months. By this time she will not know which victim is doing revenge.

Visit site
Granted C-36 criminalizes the johns activity and legalizes the sps (which is why I would never give my real name or use my personal phone) but blackmail, violence, theft are also illegal (and possibly worst).
So I wonder, how to they compare legally ?

Final thought: Oh for the want of saving a few bucks. How much money do you save with a BP girl? And then you open yourself to possible scams like this?

I understand there are a few guys that are hunters. But how much money do you waste to possibly save 20-40 bucks? I, myself had to learn the hard way. I think $450 USD is my all-time high expenditure for an hour with a single girl. But I walked away content. On the other hand, I consider how many times I used CL or BP and I walked away thinking what a waste of my money. A few times I dropped a 20$ or even 40$ and walked away or even ran away. Sometimes the girl was a good find and I had a great time but many times I wished I would of stayed home and yanked it and saved my money for a girl charging the regular rate at a hobby location.

I always go in * Sanitized. ( *US military black OPs teams go on missions without insignia, dog tags or any ID so that there is plausible deniability ) I do not carry ID and only the necessary amount of money.

Since I don't know if he is married or have relatives on his facebook, he can just go in his account's setting and make his contact list invisible from anyone but him....It can look suspicious but if his wife is not too much of a nag, she won't notice...or not before he finds a good excuse before she does...

I don’t have any prior experience with leolist . I did have a bad experience a long time ago ( did not hobby back then) but I don’t recall the site and the specific ads. Only remember I hated the experience so much and learned from it as to never repeat it again,, and I usually don’t make the same mistake twice. And of course I’m not saying that all the SP’s on the other sites are not any good or that they shouldn’t be trusted. All I can say with certainty is that I never encountered any such problems with Indy’s and agencies that advertised here on MERB. I’m just stating the obvious I suppose. And there is already enough great advice and plenty of comments given on this thread.

But that being said there are consequences to the choices we make in life as we all know.
Hobbying is no different in my opinion. One mustn’t be lazy in doing some elementary research. And SP’s rates shouldn’t be the only criteria. If you choose to try and save money and look for cheaper alternatives and you encounter some really bad SP’s then I think the first person you should hold accountable is none other than yourself. Sorry but all this talk about blackmail ,credit card theft, revenge, covert ops, and Facebook privacy makes you want to be extra careful but not to the point where you start becoming paranoid for your safety. Because doing so whould take all the fun away from this hobby and make it less enjoyable. So I cannot find the words to convey how much important it is to find an environment where you feel safe enough as not to worry for matters as these...

My suggestion would be to solely choose to see SP’s ( Agency or Indy’s) that advertise here on MERB and have a solid reputation and chances are pretty slim that you will ever live some sort of horror story.
Myself mostly a patron at XO , Euphoria and other reputable agencies here in Montreal and I trust them . Well I trust them to be discreet with what limited personal info they have of me and I trust them with me not getting pickpocketed of some sort .I once forgot my favourite watch while freshening up , and on another occasion misplaced my designer sunglasses and I didn’t need to worry as they where kept safe and given back to me . Most SP’s at these agencies that I’ve seen don’t even check the donation that is left in plain view in an envelope on some counter table until after I’ve left. So there is some level of trust. There is enough stress in our daily lives already so I don’t want to constantly worry or need to feel uncomfortable leaving my pants lying around with my ids or money or whatever piece of info that may compromise my privacy. That sounds to exhausting and if that’s the only way then I think we are doing it all wrong.
I’ve always felt nothing but confidence with these reputed agencies . So far they have never let me down .

Myself I find no beauty in sleeping with someone’s body if that basic trust has not been already established.

Look behind you.
What happened to the good old days when you went to visit the person with a few friends and settled it, Same as when an incall does a scam. Can not drink from the skulls of your enemies anymore.

Let’s try to avoid getting into these unfortunate situations first and foremost.
Like most folks here I agree just absorb the loss and be grateful for the lesson. Chances are you where partly at fault.
Don’t really know if you where really serious STN about getting retribution but I know your old school and I always like your style sir.
I’d say to better leave it be and not pursue it further. Let’s try to be civil or at least let’s pretend to be .

In any case I wouldn’t be to concerned about it. They don’t sound like criminal masterminds,,, more of the petty hustler, fraudster and swindler, floozie variety . Sooner or later they end up meeting someone who doesn’t take no shit,, of this I’m certain. Call it karma or call it what you want.
As the saying goes life is like an echo. What you send out comes back .
And what you sow you reap.

I always go in * Sanitized.

I often do the same. And I don't do incall with agencies I've never used for outcalls.

Cmdr. Krill -- I was wondering the same. Maybe love at first sight. Or she's very good at tricking him into letting her into his phone -- but more improbable as in "Mission Impossible" move: an accomplice cloned his phone while he was doing the good deed with her. Did he even get any from her?

If this dude is lucky, they did not video him doing the deed with the lady -- more blackmail materials.

That would be my worse nightmare. Always go with established and well reviews ladies. If you are going to get blackmailed it will be with a new pop up/fly by night provider that usually has a BF/pimp
backing her in the scam.
