Okay everyone, aside from the endless selection of beauties your city and country has to offer — what all is there to do in Montreal?
I will be here Friday-Monday.
So far on my list of things Is

-Mount Royal
-Toronto vs Montreal hockey game (my first hockey game ever)
-snow boarding (I’m from Florida.. so I know the slopes aren’t Rocky Mountain crazy in the city, but it will be better then nothing?)
-marijuana (not legal recreationally in Florida)

For those of you who are from here, are there any hidden gems that I should be checking out?
I prefer fine dining/exquisite cuisine (things out of the norm)
Scenic views
History
Culture.

Finally, I am from a state where you wear shorts and a t shirt 10-11 months out of the year. Just how cold does it feel out there? What kind of attire should I bring? I purchased thermal under pants and shirts, a neck warmer, beanie, and a ski jacket.

Thank you all in advance!

Don't forget winter boots (and not just spring or fall boots). Beanies are fine but you will see that people wear thick scarves and hats here, usually made of wool. Keep your toes, fingers and ears warm.

There is no ski station in the city, but an hour and a half or so outside of Montreal you can find some decent mountains for a fun afternoon of snowboarding.

As for restaurant suggestions, you could try Le Violon, Beba, or Mon Lapin. All delicious!

Wait, there are more than one type of boots?? Oh lord.
What’s the difference between fall and winter boots? I was going to bring one of my pair of work boots. Link below

Is this not suffice? If not I’ll go ahead and order a pair. I won’t find winter boots in Florida I fear. :(

Thank you!!

I’m going to do my best to try all of those places!! Starting with beba though!

They are waterproof, so it should be fine with thick merino socks. Winter boots are waterproof but keep your feet warm, very warm. Toes are freezing easily in this cold!

Happy to read you will go to Beba! Have one of their knish, you won't regret!

This is amazing!! Thank you! I can’t ice skate - never had the opportunity. :( but I did figure I would go to trembont for a day and snow board. Do you believe trembont is worth visiting?
Underground city, mont-royal, fine arts museum, and shopping is definitely on the list of things to do!
What is vieux-Montreal?

Do you mean Mont-Tremblant? It's cold out there but yes, it's worth it! It's a very popular mountain/village though, it's always best to go on a weekday.

You can ice skate in the old port (Vieux-Montréal) and rent skates on-site, if you want to try (with a chair at first maybe, haha!)

Yes! My apologies - Mont-Tremblant. Amazing! Unfortunately a weekday won’t work for my relatively short visit. But I do plan on going Sunday :).
Idkkkkk!!! Lollll I may need a tutor for ice skating. However i do have time in the schedule to accommodate such.

Vieux Montreal is Old Montreal, a section of the city that is well worth visiting, dating back to the 17th Century. Narrow, winding cobblestone streets, interesting shops, European charm, and ... tourists! It's quieter this time of year than in the summer and very attractive. If you're a walker, I'd put it near the top of the list.

I laughed at the link for your boots! They'll be fine. The streets can get quite slushy and wet in winter. Skip the skiing unless you have a car and want to spend the day ... in Vermont (I'm kidding!).

If you have the budget, you might hire a tour guide for the day. Someone attractive, smart, speaks French, and is open to ending the day in your hotel room, guiding you to sublime pleasure!

Because of its French heritage, language and culture, Montreal is a unique North American city. To truly appreciate its uniqueness, you must visit:

It is a wonderful museum in Old Montreal that is built on the original foundations of the first French settlement from 1642. Be sure to visit the newest section containing the exhibit “where Montreal began.” You will come away from your visit with a much better understanding of how Montreal started and why it is still a unique and wonderful city.

Another suggestion for Montreal visitors : don't book a lady and then proceed to ghost her. It's weird and we can see when you last logged on to merb, meaning we can clearly tell when the client who booked us is ignoring our DMs. Just a suggestion!

Shitty and disrespectful behavior, especially after getting so much help as a newcomer on this board.
For privacy purposes I would disable "the last seen online" option in general.
