You have good taste Picasso. Every try Anchor Liberty? Those are among my favorites too -- along with a Belgian beer called Delerium Tremens...

BD

Thanks BD. You sound like a connoisseur of ales too. Yes, I've had Anchor Liberty and it's a very good ale. But, I prefer Sierra Pale Ale as it's more full-bodied and since I love spicy food I find that Sierra Pale Ale is the perfect beer to wash it down. I've heard of Delirium Tremens, isn't it a strong ale too?

Cheers,
Picasso

PS: Are you from the SF Bay Area?

I picked up a bottle of St-Ambroise Millesimee that is supposed to be a vintage ale that improves with age "for a number of years". But I don't think I will have the patience to wait more than a number of weeks!

I tasted more than two thousands different beers in the last 5 years (it's part of my job) and my "coup de coeur" is one I discovered in a nice pub in Aberlour city (The Tin Mash) in Scotland in the region of Speyside (just before a visit of the Aberlour Scotch Single Malt Distillery)

The name : Red McGragor from the Orkney Brewery.

The purpose of my trip in Scotland was to visit a lot of Scotch distillery (Oban, Macallan, Glenmorangie,Talisker, Edradour, Glen Moray, Glen Farclas, Clynelish, Ardberg, Lagavulin, Bowmore, and a lot more...), but one of my best souvenir from that trip is not a glass of Single Malt, but a glass of that marvelous beer.

Not available in Quebec at SAQ or in Ontario at LCBO, I found some available last year in a wine store in the Beacon Hill Area of Boston on Charles Street.

Delirium Tremens is one that I like too, forget about it since I generally only really go out to drink beer when I am in Philly (there is just something about the crowd at Monks Cafe)... Sierra Nevada is another goodie! Also, Dieu de celle’s peche mortal (from right here in Montreal!) which basically combines my 2 faves - coffee and beer!
