Speaking of booze, yesterday I forgot to mention that I have a bootle that I'm not ready to drink because I surmise it must be very expensive right now.

It's a Canadian O.F.C. 6 years old 86.8 proof with a Certificate of Age NO F 177830 certifying that it was bottled in Spring 1971. There's a Canadian stamp (number (12572502) over the cap where I can read 1965. It mean that the whisky inside the bootle is 46 years old!!!!!!!

Are there any experts here? Is it still drinkable? Does it have a value?

I am a dry red wine fan Italion reds from Tuscany...and I like a pilsner beer. I will drink anything but white wine. I do not prefer micro brew beer or any beer that looks like it needs to be passed through a filter.

BTW - I think this is a great topic because I think the best part of the Montreal experience is sharing a bottle of wine with a SP or meeting in the lounge of a hotel and haveing a drink prior to going up into the room. Killing a bottle of wine during a session is a lot of fun. In the states, SP's typically will refrain from drinking alcohol during a session for fear of being sliped a Mickey. In Montreal the girl enters the room and the first thing she asks is "can we order a bottle of wine." In Brasil its OK to drink with the termas girls but with the freelancers you better take care. Drinking and fucking is a great passtime.

The age of a whisky is the time it spent maturing in the cask. Once you put it in a bottle, it's airtight and stops aging, so your bottle would still be considered a 6 years old. It's not like wine where it can keep aging in the bottle so being longer in bottle does not add anything. It's surely still drinkable unless its been stored in extreme conditions or exposed to too much light. It's not an especially expensive whisky to start with and unless its a special collection item I doubt that it is worth much but I really don't know. I suppose it may be worthwhile to contact a real specialist just in case.

I know the grappa to have wet my lips, it is a very strong drink, in an Italian dinner is a tradition and people start raving haha, very cold to drink and keep in the freezer

Someone has already experienced frabrication wine? This is a lengthy process usually taste as I understand

A wine that I had the chance to drink two bottles each has a $ 1500 vintage but I can tell you the quality but I imagine that price;-)

A glass of armaniac (i dont remember what king of drinh is that :noidea: for a woman is a bit too intense humm maybe with a good cigar

I know some criteria for whether the wine is good to go watch your mouth lol

- Let the wine breathe and / or decant into a carafe or directly to the bottle
- Red wine to drink room temperature but jaime well when it is not too hot (not easy when the temperature climbs quickly;-)
- Approaching his nose to sniff for the smell to it emit
Watch-dress (lol)
- Drink a drink by sucking it slowly
- Enjoy the aroma slowly

If I am wrong let you correct me!

It's a kind of brandy, like Cognac, but it comes from Armagnac in France. I'm sure it's great with a cigar. There's something exciting about a lady smoking the cigar...:eyebrows:

Scotch Whiskies

During my recent trip to Montreal I had some time to kill while waiting for my room at Le Centre Sheraton and meandered over to the lounge. I read through their entire drink menu and what really impressed me was the selection of scotches which ranged in price from $9.50 to $27.50. They had single malt and double malt scotches and about 8 different kinds of Johnnie Walker scotches ranging up to $27.50. I noticed that the different grades of scotch put out by JW are denoted by different colors.

I guess scotches are popular in hotel bars. I assume this is because it is a hard liquor and you need not drink much of it to get tanked, as you must with beer, and people who are travelling often need a quick drink and want an immediate effect. I wonder if one or two scotch tumblers would do the trick in most cases. Of course if you are paying $27.50 for a half glass it damn well better get you buzzing. I don't know whether the price differences reflects taste, quality or alcohol content. To me it all tastes pretty nasty, but maybe some scotches are much better than others. I wonder if the $27.50 scotch is $18.00 better in taste than the $9.50 scotch?

Thanks for the info Siocnarf. My bottle is properly stored in my wine cellar. For the moment, I keep it for sentimental reasons and I have no intent to open it in the near future.

A couple of days ago, I had a date at Gordon Ramsay's restaurant in Montreal and they served us a jar of cold water with slices of cucumber. It was refreshing and I liked it. I guess it's anice alternative to the traditionnal water with lemon.

The price depends on the different methods of distillation and how long it’s been matured. Older, more expensive ones usually have a more complex and refined flavor but the alcohol is usually around the same (40% or 80-proof). You won’t get a better buzz from the more expensive but I found that good quality alcohols don’t make you as sick as the cheap ones if you drink a lot. But its best to get to know the basic ones first before you spend money on the fancy ones otherwise you won’t notice the difference. This is true for a lot of things and I guess its also true for escorts; how much better can sex get at 500$/h? I hope some day to find out…:D

Hello Beer Lovers,

I've heard a lot about Samuel Adams Summer Ale for a long time. I passed on it figuring the advertisements were just hype. Well NO!!! Like Miss Samantha, I should have enjoyed the flavor much sooner. Here's the notes on it:

Samuel Adams® Summer Ale is an American wheat ale. This summer seasonal uses malted wheat, lemon zest and Grains of Paradise, a rare pepper from Africa first used as a brewing spice in the 13th century, to create a crisp taste, spicy flavor and medium body. The ale fermentation imparts a background tropical fruit note reminiscent of mangos and peaches. All of these flavors come together to create a thirst quenching, clean finishing beer perfect for those warm summer days.

Nice creamy taste, very smooth full flavor, no harshness at all, and it drinks very easy...maybe too easy. It's the best ale I've ever tasted. Its seasonal of course, but if you ever get the chance I can't see how it can miss. Damn it's good on a very warm night. You'll be lucky to have the chance to find out for yourself.

I was unlucky at being too cautious. It usually costs about $15.50 per dozen. The woman owner was going to give me a case for about $23, but I wasn't sure I'd like it. A couple of Samuel Adams I've tried suck, though the rest are good to great. Well this one is extremely good. I got a deal for the 12 for $13.00 or so, and now really regret not taking the deal on 24. Damn.

Happy hunting,

Merlot

As a true Soviet Quebecois(hahaha just kiddin) i like Vodka, either with orange juice, or well pretty much any type of juice. I think its something that fit well mixed... But exept that i mostly drink beer(not commercial, exept La fin du monde and other Unibroue wich are mostly but still better quality) like Dieu du Ciel and other micro brewerie. My friend got me a bottle of mexico tequila... normally i don't like Tequila but that one is smooth !!!! goes down super easily with no bad taste, definately quality.

I used to drink Jack, but when i drank a 40oz in 5 min.. i stop liking it...lol

And finally rum and coke... classic, but good. I like liquor(i mean pepsi and coke, la liqueur en bon quebecois) so adding some alchool in it is nice, but better not abuse it(too much sugar) and Goldshlager and 7 up is also pretty good.

I enjoy numerous types of red wine, from light to full bodied. I love all types of beer and when in Montreal I always go for Molson X (almost impossible to get where i live). I'm not a cocktail or mixed drink imbiber, but i do enjoy single malt whiskey. Thanks for the time all.

Hello all,

I just bought my first case of the much locally touted Samuel Adams Octoberfest, and after a couple of bottles I'd say it's lived up to it's billing at about 80-85%. It's a nicely balanced malt beer with just enough caramel and toffee flavor, and no annoying after tastes. This is one of the companies best efforts, unlike some of their more daring efforts like the poor Blueberry Hill Lager, Belgian Session, White Water IPA, Alpine Spring. The Irish Red, Winter Lager, Porch Rocker, and Noble Pils are okay, but I can't wait for the Chocolate-Bock, Black and Brew, Cream Stout to come back in the winter.

I'm not there yet (I still find scotch tastes like kerosene)...The closest I've come to enjoying hard liquor is having a glass of Napoleon brandy with my grand-mother. If you sip it slowly it's the sweetest thing and very enjoyable.

Mixed drinks: bloody caesar or gin and tonic.

Sangria: very dangerous on hot days. I'll go through it quickly if I'm with friends and for some reason sweet drinks get me much drunker than wine.

I've never found a hard liquor that has any appeal on it's own, in fact I have a hard time finding any hard liquor that doesn't have an almost totally wretched taste, though a good Vodka is the closest to being tolerable. I got caught up in movie lore like Bond's Maritini's. I've tried Hennessy Cognac, Glenfiddich Scotch and a lot more and they all taste horrible. Tequila shots...*&#@!...only on a dare. But the funny thing is I really like fairly strong mixed drinks with the same hard liquor I find awful alone, and a Long Island Ice Tea rocks.

My favorites are some nicely balanced white wines (Lamberti Pinot Grigio) and rose wines (Lamberti Bardolino Chiaretto, Chateau de Nages, Col de l'Orb), or some nice wine coolers.

Many Cheeeeers,

Merlot

Hello all,

Not so long ago I was traveling by plane. Had one of those tedious airport adventures getting to my flight. About 2 hours after we took off I had to "go". I was at the front of the plane so that's where I went. I had to wait for someone else and ended up talking to this 40ish pretty flight attendant about the freaky thing that went on and having some laughs over it. When I was about to leave the plane after landing I said thanks to the crew and the same attendant handed me a bag. I thanked her and later discovered it was a bottle of Napa Valley 2011 Trilogy (red). I don't find many red wines I like to repeat with but this one was a real keeper. It had a very smooth slightly exotic plum taste with a fine lingering fruitiness. I highly recommend this one as the best red I ever had. On checking prices it goes for somewhere between $45 to $65 a bottle.

Cheers,

Merlot

Southern comfort on ice is one of my favourites

A homemade cold glass of white wine goes down pretty smooth as well and surprisingly refreshing, but you have to go old school with the homemade stuff, it has to be in a regular glass not in a wine glass

And without a doubt a nice shot of Grappa straight out of the freezer, if it's homemade even better!!!!
better even yet, drop in a couple of coffee beans in the shot glass while you're at it.
