I use Priceline or Expedia to get hotel rooms when visiting Toronto or Montreal. I normally stay in the airport areas, as they're more convenient.
In Toronto, I can get a **/*** hotel room for CN$55-75. No chance in Montreal or even outside the area. Since I'm not tied to the downtown, I even look for places in Longueiul and Laval. Heck, no. The cheapest ones areusually in Point Clair for about CN$85-100, which is a no man's land as far as action goes. (The further away West from the airport, the cheaper.) No, this was not during the Gran Prix weekend or Jazz Festival.
So what's the best option for a visitor to Montreal? Are the prices always more expensive in Montreal than in Toronto? What's the underlying reason?
Is there an excess supply of hotel rooms in the GTA vs. Montreal? I wannna understand the economics behind the higher prices.
