Will governments use COVID to try to reinstate non-contact dances?

In the 1990s, there was an epic legal battle between governments who wanted to ban and clubs owners who wanted to allow contact dances in clubs. The arguments at that time was whether contact dances were selling a sexual act and whether it was obscene. Supreme Court ruled in favor of club owners, for our greatest pleasure!

Now, however, public authorities today could try the same battle with a different argument: sanitary reasons.

The sanitary emergency is not going to last forever (so we hope, at least). When the emergency is lifted, governments will lose their abilities to just close down clubs as they want. They may be tempted however to use contact dances as a new reason to ban contact dances.

I'm not into conspiracies. I'm interested in a logical argument here. What do you guys think?

I highly doubt we will ever go back to table dances only, but the lap dance scene has been in decline for at least 5 years now. It's just not great bang for your buck compared to seeing sps at our top agencies or well-reviewed ones on LL etc. The scene was already declining pre Covid so who knows how this will all shake out.
You raise an interesting question but at this point it's anyone's guess how long this scene can thrive or even survive.
A few of these bars already closed pre Covid.
I am not a conspiracy theory guy either but it sure seems like the government, medical community and media sure don't want to let these pandemic restrictions go any time soon.

If bars are forced to do table dances it will be the end for most of them, there will be a few left at the most. Table dances are a waste of money when you got MPs and escorts. But it would be weird imposing this on bars but letting MPs operate as usual.

Especially now since girls want $15/$20 dances and are more straight then ever (unwilling to give extras).

As an a non-resident of Montreal and a sometime visitor to the city, I don't view strip clubs as an alternative to escorts and massage girls. I enjoy both escorts and strippers (and the strip club experience) for different reasons.

When I'm in Montreal I usually see an escort an average of every other day. On my "off days," I like to go to a strip club to hang out, ogle and talk to some girls and buy some dances. I definitely prefer contract dances but I don't need hard grinding lap dances to be happy-just some touching and rubbing and cuddling is fine. I am not there to "get off" and I am not thinking "I could be spending this money on an escort or massage girl." It's my night off from sex--I had sex last night and I will have it again tomorrow night. Even on days when see an escort, I may still go to a strip club just to have something to do at night.

I think there are a lot of guys in the clubs who are there for reasons similar to mine. They are not thinking of the strip club experience as an alternative to sex with an escort. They might be visitors like me who are taking a night off from sex. Or they may be guys who have satisfying sex lives with their wives or girlfriends and don't want to cheat on them but still enjoy looking at beautiful naked girls. Or they might be guys out with their buddies for a birthday, a bachelor party or a post-game beer (and they are not thinking, "gee I could be having group sex with my buddies and some escorts").

However, I do think that politicians on both the left and right might use the reason of "public health" to try to ban contact dances. If they could they would try to ban strip clubs and all other forms of commercial sex too. As I have pointed out before, there is a very strong lobby in the U.S., Canada and elsewhere made up of religious zealots, feminists and people who just hate the idea of other people having fun who would love to ban escorts, massage parlors, strip clubs and just about any kind of sex that doesn't involve two people in a government approved relationship.

So yes, I fear government using the pandemic as an excuse to change the rules for strip clubs but I don't see all strip clubs going out of business just because escorts and massage parlors offer more bang for your buck.

In Bristol the feminists are already starting a movement to ban all stripclubs. This has generated a lot of anger and pushback from the strippers. Looks like it might actually happen. The religious zealots in Saskatchewan already banned all stripclubs years ago.

And one last thing I never said all stripclubs would be gone but the majority of them would be gone except a few if table dances would be forced (there will always be a small limited market for this). You talk from a perspective of an American where prostitution is severely restricted and in most states SCs are very restricted in terms of mileage and even if any is available the prices are triple to Quebec stripclubs. The fact clubs want to go contact proves my point. Ideally if over 90% of their clients would be American tourists then I see non contact clubs thriving but we both know this will never happen except in downtown.

I never saw the allure of strip clubs honestly. I don’t like being in public with a stripper nor in a secluded area where a bouncer or anybody could be patrolling.
Yes it might be ok to have a beer with some friends with the scenery of naked women around but the price of beer there the entrance fee and the girls continually hustling you for dances just makes it annoying and not worth it.
Plus I found most strippers to be cold, manipulative and full of themselves, they take all men to be total idiots and free for fleecing, just not my scene at all.
I am sure there are many that enjoy SC I am not one of them I look at them as ridiculous rip of joints where you leave with blue balls 90% of the time, I don’t like the atmosphere, the strippers or the morons/ex cons they employ as bouncers/dormen

At least you can’t say I tip toe around the issue.
I find them a total waste of time and money.
Won’t miss them at all if they disappear. Not to mention a lot of them in the beginning we’re run by motor cycle gangs the Doric in Lemoyne was notorious for that. The bartender( ex stripper ) was the girlfriend of one of my work colleagues.

It was actually a really fun scene 20 years ago. Even 10 years ago it was still decent.
However, yes girls have gotten manipulative in recent years with the hardsell/upcharges etc...and
conveniently forgetting math skills in the booths.
That's why even pre Covid things were already getting dodgy.
However, man oh man I have such great mammaries of Sexpert, Déesses and Salon Bleu in the early 2000s!
Laval rocked back then.

If you asked me this ten years ago I would have strongly disagreed with you but now in 2021 I completely agree with you. As I explained in another thread some time ago, my stripclub golden years were from 2005 to 2015. I meet many cool warm fun strippers willing to give extras with no extra money demanded. I went out to restaurants, movies, and had many great $200 take outs. I used to have so many stripper numbers and often found many willing to give DFK and full access to their Y all for a $10 song and I would take 15-20 dances each time. But then things began to change in 2015 and it was all downhill. It became harder and harder to find cool fun strippers. I found it harder to connect with the newer girls. Then after I would have to give extra money to get extras like DFK. Before I used to get $200 GFE take outs sessions then after 2015 it took more money up to 2019 where I had to dish out $400 to get the same thing. But 2021 things went to the next level. A lot of the girls I encountered this year were exactly how you described them : cold, manipulative and most of all very very GREEDY. And they are more straight then ever. They want $15/$20 for a dance but are unwilling to go the extra mile. The atmosphere also sucks, the clubs have extremes either they are too dead or too packed. There was no ambience and the girls were too boring, most had no game. I meet some cool ones but they were very rare in 2021. As LikeitHot said in the 10/35 thread about strippers seeking out good patrons and those with money, the reality is the strippers knew where to find naive dumbasses. Imagine spending $20 a song and going to the VIP spending in excess of $200 for boring lame ultra-straight dances. This year my visits were spotty. With the way things were I lost interest. But things are worse on Leolist/Annonce Intime. Girls are total sharks, 95% fake pics most girls offering very bad service and almost never GFE. Some are dangerous and will outright rob you. Only on Merb it is good. I got my two regulars whenever they leave I will be going to SA. I do not car much for MPs, for what you get it is very expensive and it is like going to an operating table. As for escorts, I am not too interested in what I call the pizza delivery experience. So yes for 2021 I would agree stripclubs are mostly money pits now but I indulged from time to time.

Most places off island rocked back then. Remember Motel St-Pierre? Then there was Chez Mado, Miss Dorion, Faucon Bleu 2 in Beauharnois. Man those were the days. I agree for the upcharges and worst of all they do not want to give any extras! in 2021 the new way to scam you was to demand extra money for the same thing or they give less vs overcounting, I remember this one Arab girl at Deesses an wanted $10 extra to take her bra off.

Isn't that exactly what they want?

Yep indeed it is. In fact it seems the government wants all clubs and bars to be gone. Just work and school allowed. The current rules favors the construction of condos for the rich.

My buddy in Vancouver says pretty much all the bars downtown are gone and it's nothing but high-rise condominiums. He calls it the Concrete Jungle. I imagine Wetnose can confirm that.
This is an urban trend coming here as well.

Yep part of the United Nations globalist trend. They want densely populated cities like vertical cities seen in China. It is all about making money. Noticed how Trudope keeps on giving so many social benefits to encourage so many immigrants to come to Canada? The businesses and government make a lot of money off high population. Trudope said he wants Montreal to reach 19 million people. That is ridiculous, you will have overcrowding and $3000 rents like seen in Manhattan.
