Correct. It does however seem to be to fulfill slightly different needs for women than men. As Patron mentioned, it's for anonymity and discretion. I also think many women strongly prefer the illusion of romance mixed into the equation. They will often spend an entire vacation with one gigolo they have met before or one that was referred to them by another discreet woman.
