So far on the front 9 it's been an embarrassing display of golf by Tom Brady, so much so that Brooks Koepka pledged $100,000 if Brady makes a single par on the front 9.

Meanwhile Tiger has hit every fairway while Phil has sprayed the ball around. Peyton Manning has been a big surprise, winning 2 holes for the Woods-Manning team with birdies.

Brady won his $100,000 by holing a birdie on 7.

These guys have taken 3 hours to play 7 holes. Lot of yakking and bullshit, spraying around of balls and drop shots. They are never going to finish 18 before it gets dark.

I was impressed with Peyton Manning’s game and I thought that Tom Brady shit the bed.

Peyton looked liked the more polished and consistent player than Brady. However I felt that it was Tiger Woods that really carried the Woods-Manning team to victory. Tiger outplayed Phil. Phil looked like he was in pretty good shape, and was not carrying the extra weight he played with for a while, but he was very erratic and was spraying his shots all over, especially off the tee.

It's OK for us to play like that but with Phil Mickelson, you expect a little more. He didn't play his best golf yesterday. Tiger looked very good, but the question with Tiger is how his back holds over 4 days and 72 holes of golf. We saw some evidence that he could have problems with his back holding up for 72 holes earlier this year.

Phil has always been a risk taker. The higher the risk the more he’s willing to lose. Wingfoot US Open comes to mind. Tiger is always more steady and consistent. But no doubt that Tiger won it for his team. I just thought that Brady sucked when the pressure was on.

I was at Winged Foot in 2006 when Mickelson threw away what should have been a win with extremely reckless shots. The US Open is also being played at Winged Foot this year, in September. It's an extremely weird venue and not public-friendly because it's located in the middle of a residential neighborhood with no apparent public parking. I got lucky that I was given a VIP pass by someone I know who is a relative of a former US Open champion. The VIP pass got me into the players parking lot (they are all driving the same sponsor vehicles and not their own) and the hospitality tents, which were serving good but very overpriced food. Was like going to Yankees Stadium or MetLife to see the Giants.

I was there also, I've even played the course. My home course is Bethpage Black. Looking forward to September, the US Open is my favorite of the 4 majors.

Brady offset that one great shot with a bunch of terrible ones. His first 6 holes were a horror show, although that shot did manage to slow down what was looking like a trainwreck. It should be noted that he had already had taken a drop on that hole, so if he did not hole that one there was a good chance Woods-Manning would have been 4 up after 7.
