Would you be interviewed for TV?

Okay, semi-hypothetical question:

If you had the chance to be interviewed about your place in the sex industry (client, operator, SP, MP, stripper, whatever) and could do so at least semi-discretely, would you do it?

As an SP of whatever sort, would you allow people to get a glimpse of the other side of the situation?

Do you have a story to tell?

Let me know :)

If image / sound adjustment techniques were used to protect the identity?

Also, would you be more or less likely if it was someone from inside this situation doing the work (say, like me rather than network TV to whatever?)

It's a project I have on the back burner, but might come up a little further in the next 6 months.

Bowling for Escorts

Though it would be one hell of a story to have a documentary about the escort business, it will be hard to realize without an ironclad guarantee of anonymity and no legal repercussions for whatever information is divulged during the course of interviews.

Only my two closest friends know I'm an occasional hobbyist. Though I'd love nothing more than to argue the pros of regulating the prositution/ escort trade into a legitimate form of business that could be carried out in broad daylight with no stigma attached, I don't believe our society is at that point yet (and I'm certainly not confident enough to show my face to millions and admit I've used these services).

However ManAboutTown, given the decline of religious influence on the public's lives in general, your project is something that I definitely believe will have it's day in the sun, I just don't think we've come far enough along yet... Hopefully someday we'll have a government run brothel that is a clean and legitimate establishment with reliable service (and prices) like a few of the legalized brothels in the States.

So I'll take a coward's stance for now and say "If you can guarantee me my face and name won't show up anywhwere, I'll gladly volunteer".

I would iron clad assure those things. It is all about "what you do" and less about "who you are" except in the most general terms. Typical techniques include shooting hands, or from behind, etc... plus blurring, pixilating, etc. Everything is possible, there are many ways to assure that everything is good.

This hobby attracts all kinds of people, and we interact at all sorts of different levels. There is os much complexity, so many "reasons".... to outsiders, they would be stunned to find out how big and how prevelant this all is.

As I said once, the biggest laugh I have gotten in the last few months involved walking into a place I do business with and seeing that one of the guys had MERB open on his screen.

There are more of us than anyone thinks. There are alot of interesting stories in all of this, on all sides. Most importantly, the stories are what "writes the script"... I cannot know the story until it is there :)

Eager, part of the process of shooting this sort of thing is to shoot it to "run"... you don't shoot faces and remove them later unless you have to - for the most part, you shoot around the subject, hands, chest, camera pointing at feet while walking, smoking, etc... all things that don't give away the person.

Heck, you are probably more likely to be mugged coming out of an MP or incall late than anything on a tape getting out and causing a problem. Again, there would have to be that connection between the contents of the tape as you as a person - with out, you are just "eager beaver" as you have always been.

I will more than likely be advertising in local papers for people, I just feel that many of the merbites have maybe more interesting stories to tell... plus the important "how do you find it", "how did you start", "what do you like" type questions that maybe would better explain to the public what it is that we all do.

Heck, maybe I would help explain myself to myself :)
