The mods will probably love me for this, but here it goes. I got the idea for this thread after watching this interview with 18-year-old pornstar Sasha Grey who has already done 80 films before she turned 19. She mentions how she gets type cast into young roles, roles that often create the illusion of being too young. So, how do you feel about legal adults portraying characters suggesting they are or might be illegal.

ABSOLUTE RULE # 1: DO NOT ACCUSE ANY MEMBER OR SUGGEST ANY MEMBER IS A PEDOPHILE. The only question here is basically...do you feel it is wrong for adult pornstars to portray characters under 18? Is creating such an illusion wrong?

Well, I've seen a number of these videos as I assume most people who watch porn have. I have never seen one of them where the girl is insinuated to be underage. In fact they tend to go out of their way to include the fact that the girl is 18 years of age in the script. Often they will portray the girl as just having turned 18 the day before, or the day of, the filming. It's actually illegal to portray a girl in porn as being underage. And since the Tracy Lords debacle, I doubt that any production company would be taking any chances.

Is it wrong to get turned on by these situations or these young women? I don't think so. We know that these girls are of age and anything else is pure fantasy. If someone can't separate the fantasy from reality, then they have serious problems that go way beyond watching nubile young ladies in porn vids.

Frankly, though I like some aggressiveness during sex, I find the real violence, degradation, and humiliation elements far more disturbing than the supposed age role-playing she and others do.

The biggest problem I have is that often I can't tell the difference half the time between 15 and 22 in real life on the street. What the hell is the difference in dress? Beats me.

I personnally find it morally wrong to be turned on by underage looking girls.

Basic problem is that being turned on has nothing to do with morally right (one could argue that morally wrong is actually part of the turn on).
So the law has to put boundaries to avoid that what turns one on destroys another one too much: the girl has to be 18, the extreme fighters can't actually kill each other...
But the law won't change what turns you on, and the case for "availability increases perversion" has still to be made conclusively (ie: seeing porn with young looking girls actually increases underage sex, watching violence makes you violent...).

I find that porn reflects society in general. And when you see what younger girls are wearing these days, in movies, television and on the street, it's no surprise that the most popular web porn is going in this direction.

And if anyone here says that they don't find the 18 and 19 year olds that spend their evenings around Crescent street to be hot and sexy, they are lying their asses off.

Not true. Most college students in the US are 18 to 21. A few enter into college at 17. Less enter before 17, and those who do are gifted students finishing high school at an early age.

Tracey Lords, a runaway, made most of her films before 18. All of them were pulled from the US, except for the film she made after 18. She gave false ID saying that she was over 18 when in fact she was 15. The producers of her films were prosecuted.

Age of college students in the USA: 16 to 19. Teens: 13 to 19.

Let's see here...high school in the US ends at grade 12. So that would mean that kids start school at what...4 years old to graduate at 16? I always thought the average age at which one enters grade 1 is 6 years old. Come time to graduate high school...grade 12...6+12=18.

As far as suggested ages in porn films...I have never once seen a girl portrayed as being under 18 years of age. For one thing, it's illegal to do so. In fact most internet porn starts with the girl being asked her age and vids which are in the fantasy realm always state somewhere during the vid that the girl is 18 or over. So I don't see where you are getting this impression of the girls being suggested as being underage.
