My NFL picks suck, I bet the sports select pro-line ( very small amounts as I do not bet ). Pick the $2 ( 6 ) games where all have to win, pickung upsets and ties it pays about $400 to $1,200 depending in the odds. Usually get 4 or 5 right so I lose.
Last week played combo, pick 5 games at $22 and if 3 win you make some money, 4 good noney and 5 very well all depending on the odds. For awhile all were good, TB and Atl ( won but tied ) pissed me off. 3 right won $16.... $6 loss.
Sticking with my $2 bets.

I think Richard Sherman is partially right, the other reason is parents are steering their kids away from football and towards physically safer sports and are watching those sports.

I can't believe Ben Roethlisberger just beat the Cowboys for a TD with the ole Dan Marino fake spiking the ball play!

Another instant classic just ended in Pittsburgh with the good guys winning yet again. Earlier in this thread I said it looks like Da' Boy's were the team to beat in the NFC. Well it now looks like they are the team to beat in the entire NFL.

Ezekiel Elliot already has over 1000 yards rushing with 7 games to still be played! He has entered talk of MVP and not just Rookie of the Year. He reminds me so much of Emmit Smith.

I watched this final play in the New England - Seattle game and the only penalty that could have been called from what I can see is offensive pass interference on Gronkowski, so I have no problem with the no call.

I saw the replay a few times. It was definitely a wash concerning any possible penalties. The flaw I saw was with Gronkowski having a significant size advantage I don't know why he bothered touching the defender. The delay in doing that made him late to a sure catch with his reach. It was just beyond his finger as it was. Go to the ball let the defender bump you. That way a pass interference or a catch is more likely. No way the defender could have reached that pass.

The other thing I didn't like was they ran it 3 times, and at that time I thought Seattle had a QB sneak dead in it's tracks without the fumble. Throw the dang ball 3 times if necessary.

KICKERS: Good. That automatic extra point is the most boring play in sports. I'm glad there's a bit more challenge to it.

Cowboys: Hey, they have a quarterback now. At the moment it looks like the same Bledsoe-Brady scenario from 2001. Established very good veteran quarterback goes down, replacement comes in, shows his stuff, and the former starter is out of a job. Time for Cowboys fans to admit Romo was never as good as his publicity. Like Bledsoe (who I met once) he had many impressive moments but was never that truly great quarterback. If whats-his-name is the real deal ...bye bye Romo.

Dallas has gone from a unknown to a good team to a great team to being in the hunt to have a good shot at winning the Super Bowl this season to now the Top Dog and the team to beat.

Stong Defense, Strong Offense with the top O-line and Star (Rookie) Running Back in the game along with the best TE and WR in the game, a smart and rising star at QB with a great and now healthy back up ready to step in if needed. Strong Special Teams with the most reliable kicker in the game. Great coaching, great owners and the best place to play football in all of the NFL.

Getting to the SB would give the Cowboys a tremendous home field advantage as well since it will be played in Texas.

And the only team to beat the Cowboys? The men in blue, the NY Giants, who beat Dallas fair and square in Dallas in a tight game. Dallas must still play the Giants in NY, where a fired up Odell Beckham Jr. and Jason Pierre Paul await. What this means is that the Cowboys cannot slip up and have another loss or home field advantage could bo bye bye.

Tom Brady just tied Peyton Manning for the all-time NFL wins lead by a quarterback at 200 each. Peyton did it in 292 games with 200 Wins and 92 losses for a .685 PCT. Brady did it in 261 games with 200 Wins and 61 Losses for a .766 PCT.

Joe Montana had a .713 PCT. Chances of Brady being passed are astronomical. The next highest wins active player is Drew Brees with 134 Wins.

I am watching the Pats-Rams today and the Pats are blitzing the crap out of Rams rookie QB Jared Goff and beating the crap out of him. He has 2 picks already. One thing I noticed is he is wearing gloves and its not all that cold in New England today. Brady is not wearing gloves. To me this is a sign that Goff is a soft California kid who can't play in bad weather. The biggest rap on him at NFL combine was his very small hands, and when you have small hands plus wearing gloves in weather that doesn't call for it, it's not a recipe for success.

I see gronkowski is done for the season again, seems he is injury prone

Gronkowski is the best TE in the NFL when healthy, but he is never healthy, and the Pats may have to move on from him as they are paying money for nothing. You need a reliable TE who can catch and another one who can block. Most guys can't do both and Gronk can but he is of no use constantly on IR. So now they need two guys to replace him.

Sometimes you have to fish or cut bait and have to just give up on a guy. Yankees did the same thing with Nick Johnson after they signed the oft injured Johnson to be an exclusive lefty DH, thinking he would stay healthy if he did not have to put on a glove and play the field. However after a few games he injured himself swinging in batting practice. The Yankees had to put him on the DL but after that the Yankees said enough is enough, and that was it for NJ in the majors. That guy was a very, very good hitter with a beautiful swing, he just could not stay healthy and was a waste of time and money for every team he played for.

Three days ago Michael Irvin called Gronkowski the most difficult matchup he's ever known. He's a beast. He's not always injured, but because he's the kind of player who tries to stay up and fight for every inch the stress and the hits pile up leaving him more vulnerable and periodically injured. Unfortunately the injuries have put him out for a long stretches. It may be time to trade him but his contract is heavily back-loaded. For a guy with his talent and threat to make big plays the $4.5 million he will earn next year is paltry compared to his value. The Pats my move on, but they may figure he's worth another shot.

If the team is going to dump him the best move would be to wait until he returns and plays a bit to encourage some team to bite for a trade.

Tom Brady wins game number 201. He now OWNS the All-Time Wins NFL Record. 201 Wins, 61 Losses. .767 PCT. 80 points or so better than Peyton. No active quarterback is within 50 miles of that total.

Cam Newton versus Coach Rivera. It seems quite ridiculous at first to bench someone, especially the starting quarterback, for refusing to wear a tie, and especially what it could have done in a close game. Then I think about both how every other player had to follow the team rules and how easy it would be for anyone to simply pack a shirt and a tie or buy them over a week's time. I don't know who is right about this due to what seems such a trivial issue the quarterback could have avoided in a second and whether a coach needed to magnify something when it seemed so trivial.

However I remember Newton after losing the Super Bowl, something 49 other quarterbacks have had to deal with, acting like an over-the-top pouting child and wonder how much more is affecting the team's performance because of what looks like his questionable attitude towards handling himself at various times. Is there a lot more behind this?

BRADY THE ALL-TIME NFL WINS LEADER:

The current marquis representative of the NFL received private congratulations from his good friend Peyton Manning. Brett Favre made a video congratulating Brady. Where was Goodell? Soaking in bitterness like the petty worm he is. Nothing from him. One would think he'd be doing everything his job demands like promoting a new achievement standard. But no. Roger Petty passed on this one so far.
