Look behind you.
My daughter wants a tattoo but she does not think the place where we live has a good artist. Is there an outstanding tattoo artist in Montreal that someone could recommend? Hate to look through the net and pick one.

Montreal has a plethora of good and great tattoo artists. And also some rally Shitty ones.
What you need to do is first off try and narrow down the style of tattoo she would like: traditional? Japanese? Black and grey? Réalisme? Etc etc. Tell her to either go thru instragram or the Internet and find a style or some tattoos that she likes and that will narrow down the search considerably. I wouldn't go to a new-trad artist for a portrait tattoo and vice versa.
Also : you really do get what you pay for. It's for life: so find a good artist at a reputable shop with a portfolio of tattoos you like and no pay them well. Otherwise she's just gonna pay to retouch/remove/coverup down the line.
And where does she live, there might actually be some local talent, you never know.

Mauve is a good place ( Pat Pierce, the owner, is part of the association of professional piercers, just to give you an idea). There are a few great places and I have a few friends and acquaintances tattoo artists.

Basically tell her to make sure she goes to a reputable place and chooses chooses an artist with a good portfolio.

There are a few good Tattoo places in Montreal, do your research and you should be able to pick a good one, I would also suggest that you get one if you don't already have one, after all life is short and you only live once, I personally love visiting tattoo shops, some of the hottest girls that I have ever seen has been by just browing through tattoo shops.:thumb:

Tell her to stop being lazy and look upthe info. Then check to see if the people she settled on are legit. Tis what I'd do instead of quasi helicopter parenting my kid. I'm not a dad though :(

She looked where she goes to school and where she lives and did not find anyone she likes, then she asked me. Keep reviewing and stay away from parenting advice.

Thanks for all the advice, on Friday we are going to two shops, Imago and Sin City to see what they have to offer.

Adrenaline is the lace that has the most artists and diversity, dependent on what you want. Remember that each artist has a specialty and it is more important to find an artist that matches what you want. Speak to Chris, the owner, tell him what you want and he will direct you to the artist who will do the most amazing job for you. BTW, they are located at the corner of Guy and Sherbrooke ;)
