The Authorities Now Want Taxi Drivers and Hotel Workers to help fight against sexual exploitations (prostitutions). Will this become what happened in East Germany and China's Cultural Revolution?

Imagine hotel workers calling the LE to report suspected prostitution inside a guest room. What does a John say if the LE "breaks" down the door -- we were just watching TV together.

Yikes? Beware of course. But how do we keep the Hobby safe in Montreal and surrounding townships? (I apologize in advance if I don't keep up with this thread.)

"Montreal police want taxi drivers and hotel staff to contact authorities if they spot a possible case of sexual exploitation.
To ensure workers in the hospitality and transportation industry come forward if they spot suspicious activity, the SPVM launched a pilot project last year that began by building partnerships with local hotels."

"Police are particularly focused on any cases involving minors."

Obviously, everyone agrees that exploitation of minors must be stopped; it cannot and will not be tolerated anywhere. Everyone should help the LE stop such heinous crimes.

"Out-of-ordinary behaviours that lodging staff should be on the lookout for include, for example, a large amount of condoms left in a room after somebody checked out or people that stay in their rooms for several days without leaving."

I'm with Rinzler. Every year we get the same scare but then 2 weeks after the GP we don't hear a word about this. I'm fairly confident that taxi drivers and hotel staff will be on the lookout for underage activity only.

You are correct but this time they are setting up a task force....sounds a bit more permanent to me.

This will probably affect out of town escorts who rent a hotel room for 3 or 4 days.

the task force focusing on minors and trafficking has been around for a while

theyre just now making noise in the media to scare out-of-towners and because theyre pressured by anti-sex trade groups. same scenario as the past few years

I don't know if hotel staff will be of any concern. One of the girls I saw last weekend visits my hotel so often that she knows the doorman personally, if the hotel wanted to do something, they probably would have already done it.

No need to read to much into it I think.
THE NEW STEPPED UP EFFORTS isn’t really NEW . It’s the same story every year when the GP comes around with all the influx of sex workers coming into town. Nothing to worry about.

P.s I always make an effort to tip the cleaning ladies simply because they don’t make the best wages . I never do it because I worry.

Around the corner
Not too worried, the ones I visit host in their own incall condo.
It is just your usual GP hype that both police and politicians want to remind the public the great job they are doing once a year.
Then they go back to being the assholes that they are for the rest.

Thanks for your insights everyone.

Let's hope the LE's primary focus and interest are to protect the public during the GP. The crowds will outnumber the LE's by a large margin. Festivities like the GP are soft targets for deranged extremists. Public safety should be a paramount mission of the LE and politicians. And, of course, combating exploitations of minors must be given foremost priority by everyone, especially the LE and politicians, for we all must protect children.

Safe, responsible hobbying for everyone, especially the SPs.

And I did heard once it's the girls that actually "tipped" the waiter on your behalf

Ah, so that's why the waiter was so nice to us. :pound:

I don't know if Stella is involved or not but there's a committee called "Un trop Grand Prix" (word play with "Grand Prix", which means "Big Price" in French.... so in English it would mean "A too big price").
I think it's a nice initiative to try to stop the exploitation of young women.

Grand Prix . . . means ´big reward’ or big present
Yeah, for the extra security staff that hotel may hire -- these folks receive big rewards in the way of tips (hush monies) from guests who are Johns and eye-candies (beautiful SPs) walking around. It's all good as long as no one is harmed and no underage girls are trafficked or otherwise exploited.

The TO Raptors put TO and Canada on the NBA global map. GP put Montreal on the global map for racing enthusiasts and car nuts.

I highly doubt any sane hotel employee would report suspected Johns or (adult) Escorts to Management for fear of losing their jobs (and for mistaking "innocent" guests).

I used to stay at the Hilton Gardne Inn downtown. It was a new hotel and thus the pesky elevator key. I used to tip the doorman to bring the girls up to my room. It was a fun game because he would give me his number rating after. After awhile, I decided to save the 20$ and just meet the girl in the bar and we would walk up. Nobody cared. Have this changed?

In all my years, I had the the Residence in call me when the lovely Jennifer was flagged by the front desk and I don't blame them. In her little black dress and heels she was smoking hot. They called and said

"Mr. [Hungry] are you expecting a Jennifer?

And I said, Yes, send her up

Now this was after having I don't know how many girls sent up to my room over several year. Have things changed?

Hungry besides high usage of airbnb I suspect nothing has changed ;)

Last week in Toronto I was waiting by the elevator of a very nice hotel for my girl to buzz me in (it was a hotel incall) I reached my back pocket to grab my phone as I heard a ding... While pulling my phone i did not notice but I pulled out the 2 condoms I had. The concierge passing by noticed, picked them up on the floor and gave them back to me. "Take good care" he said with a big smile. Haha I should be more carefull sometimes ;)

Cheers,

I did not want to pull out the 400$ stack I had

Damn! 400$! Was she worth it? You're buying dinner next time ;)

I was just on Crescent street walking through the stalls and booths and the music stage. There must be 200+ police officers already deployed in and around the area, and it's not even dark yet. Will there be enough police officers to patrol the rest of Montreal and areas where hotels and motels are located this weekend. I'm glad the police is providing public safety at some of the GP events, but do they have enough resources to even tackle minor exploitation this weekend?

As many of you said, it's all talk and no substance from the politicians and the police management.
